Mistral Air (7M, Rome Fiumicino) is set to take delivery of two ATR72-500s formerly with fellow Italian operator, Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona). ch-aviation has exclusively learned that the two turboprops will be used to operate domestic Italian flights on behalf of Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino).
The ATR72-500s will be based at Ancona and Trieste and used for the Ancona-Rome Fiumicino route as well as services from Trieste to Milan Linate, Catania and Naples Int'l starting June 1.
Mistral Air also recently began selling seats for its scheduled charter flights directly to consumers.
Backed by the Italian postal service, Gruppo Poste Italiane, Mistral Air also operates ATR42 and 72 freighters, three B737-400s, four B737-300(QC)s and wet-leases a MD-82. Given the airline's closeness with Alitalia, the Italian press has speculated that it could become the Italian national carrier's low cost subsidiary should talks with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l) succeed.

Scusate ma un TRS-CTA con ATR72 ma quanto ci mette?
Sapete poi se gli ATR porteranno la livrea Alitalia con il trafiletto operated by Mistral, oppure con la livrea delle Poste? Thanks
Potrebbe essere lui uno?
