Non sapevo che SAA fosse messa cosi male, Etihad dovrà accellerare i tempi di ingresso nel capitale visto che a quanto pare hanno bisogno imminente di risorse fresche.
Alitalia era messa forse anche peggio, e non mi pare che la trattativa sia stata poi così "fulminea"
C'è da dire che nel frattempo gli azionisti italiani hanno versato diversi aumenti di capitale e prestiti ponte.
Certo che è singolare questa strategia di Etihad di acquistare quote di compagnie tutte in forte difficoltà vedi Alitalia, Air Serbia, Air berlin, Jet Airways, Saa. Ok comprare una compagnia in crisi può essere magari un affare a livello economico ma doverle poi risanare per riportarle all' utile è una scommessa non da poco e non c'è nessuna certezza di farcela, o almeno non per tutte.

Cesare se entri in una compagnia "debole" la puoi facilmente "ricattare". Della serie , o così o gambe all'aria. Questo implica che giocoforza il "salvatore" avrà voce in capitolo sulle scelte.

Cesare come hanno fatto con AZ?
Effettivamente è cosi, anche se rimangono sempre molte difficoltà, molte delle compagnie che hanno acquisito erano ex compagnie nazionali a partecipazione statale e in questo tipo di società è difficile far cambiare la mentalità dall' oggi al domani. Però se mi concedi comprando ex compagnie nazionali in forte crisi si sono "comprati" anche l'appoggio dei loro governi che avrebbero avuto un grande problema di immagine e lavorativo se queste compagnie fossero fallite.
Uno dei primi "ricatti" se mi passi il termine che hanno subito le compagnie entrate nella sfera di Eithad è stata quella di portare acqua al suo mulino ovvero hanno tutte aperto o aumentato i voli di federaggio verso AUH.
Germany approves Air Berlin/Etihad tie up BUT...
Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) has been given the greenlight from the German government concerning its partnership with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l). The approval, however, is not without restrictions.
According to the Focus magazine, an investigation by Germany's federal aviation office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA) and the country's transport ministry recently concluded that the Emirati carrier does not have effective control over Air Berlin. However, in order to ensure such conditions are maintained, Air Berlin must ensure that the majority of its board membership - chairman included - are European citizens. In addition, full copies of all boardroom meeting minutes must be availed to the LBA for inspection.
Despite its 29% minority stake in the German carrier, Etihad has availed more than EUR300million (USD372million) in financial aid to Air Berlin leading to queries about its say in the airline's operations.
The deal mirrors a similar agreement reached between the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) and Darwin Airline (F7, Lugano) and Etihad in which Etihad amended several aspects of its agreement to acquire a 33% stake in Darwin including scrapping a monitoring agreement over the airline’s quality and safety and relinquishing a role in the appointment of Darwin top management.
Etihad's acquisition of stakes in various European carriers has come under close scrutiny from both local and European authorities over concerns the carrier was using its financial muscle to call the proverbial shots.

airberlin: More flights from Berlin to Bucharest
As of 30 March 2015 airberlin will be doubling the number of flights from Berlin to Bucharest. The airline will then have two daily non-stop flights to the Romanian capital, offering 13 new connecting destinations to and from Bucharest.
“Eastern Europe is an important growth market for airberlin. This additional daily frequency allows us to extend our offer for travellers to and from Bucharest. Thirteen new connections - including Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Venice, Gdansk and Chicago – will be available. These additional flights will also allow us to provide business travellers with even greater flexibility when planning their schedules,” said Mohammed Nasr, Eastern Europe Area Manager at airberlin.
The new flight AB8272 will take off on 30 March 2015 at 21:35 from Berlin and arrive at 00:40 in Bucharest. Flight AB8270 will additionally remain on offer, leaving at 9:45 from Berlin and arriving at 12:50 in Bucharest. From Bucharest, the new daily airberlin flight AB8273 will leave at 6:30 and arrive in Berlin at 7:35. Flight AB8271, which takes off at 13:10, arrives in Berlin at 14:15.
Starting 30 March 2015, the new non-stop connections will be: Madrid, Palma, Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife South Airport, Ibiza and Fuerteventura, Olbia, Venice, Kaliningrad, Gdansk and Sylt. This new flight will allow airberlin to offer a daily connection for the first time to a new long-haul destination: Chicago. What is more, connections will be available to and from other German and European destinations as well as to and from Russia, New York City and Abu Dhabi. This added flight will allow passengers to reach more destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Australia and Africa via Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, transfer times with connecting flights will be reduced.
