Guarda su manage my booking.

Ci saranno diversi aerei fuori posizione il giorni dopo lo sciopero, soprattutto se come in quelli precedenti l’adesione sarà pressochè totale, e mi aspetto molte cancellazioni. Io starei in campana.

During September, BALPA’s (British Airways main pilots’ union) industrial action initially scheduled for the 9, 10 and 27 led to an initial cancellation of 4,521 flights over a period of seven days. Subsequently, 2,196 flights were reinstated leaving 2,325 cancellations. British Airways also introduced flexible commercial policies on 4,070 flights not directly affected by the industrial action. These policies enabled customers to re-book flights or receive a refund. The net financial impact of the industrial action is estimated to be €137 million. In addition, there were further disruption events affecting British Airways in the quarter, including threatened strikes by Heathrow Airport employees, which had a further net financial impact of €33 million.IAG estimates that the latest booking trends in its low cost segments (primarily Vueling and LEVEL) will have an adverse financial impact of €45 million.

At current fuel prices and exchange rates, IAG therefore expects its 2019 operating profit before exceptional items to be €215 million lower than 2018 pro forma (€3,485 million). Passenger unit revenue is expected to be slightly down at constant currency, compared to flat guidance previously, and non-fuel unit costs are expected to improve at constant currency, unchanged from previous guidance. Capacity growth, measured in ASKs, for the fourth quarter is now expected to be about 2 per cent, which is 1.2 points below previous guidance, and full year capacity growth is expected to be about 4 per cent, compared to 5 per cent previously.
There have been no further talks between British Airways and BALPA. The airline’s offer of a 11.5 per cent pay increase over three years still stands and has been accepted by British Airways’ other unions, representing 90 per cent of the airline’s employees. Clearly any further industrial action will additionally impact IAG’s full year 2019 operating profit.
Willie Walsh, IAG’s chief executive, and Steve Gunning, IAG’s chief financial officer, will host an analysts’ conference call at 07:30am UK time (08:30am CET) on Thursday 26 September.

British Airways cuts Miami capacity over Trent 1000 issues

British Airways is cutting its winter frequencies to Miami because of ongoing issues with the Trent 1000 engines on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Miami will be served by the airline an average of twice daily from London Heathrow between December and end-March 2020, down from three times daily in winter 2018/2019, according to Cirium’s schedule data and confirmed by the airline.
BA said the reduction in capacity was the result of the ongoing Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine issues.
As a result of the aircraft changes, BA will offer 4718 seats per week in each direction during winter 2019/20. This is equivalent to 41% fewer seats than the 8001 seats per week during winter 2018/2019, Cirium’s flight schedule data shows. Smaller reductions of around 20% of capacity will also be seen in November.
BA notes that through its partner American Airlines it will still serve the route with 21 flights per week.
In winter 2018/2019 the airline operated Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A380 aircraft on the route, but this year will only operate 747-400s.
Although the 787 did not serve the route in 2018/2019, the reduction in capacity demonstrates how BA has been forced to rearrange its schedules to account for the Trent 1000 problems.
The Oneworld carrier will return to operating three flights daily from Heathrow to Miami for its summer schedule April-September with the addition of a daily A380 service.
BA had previously said that problems with its Trent 1000 engines would force adjustments to its long-haul schedules.
Durability issues with the engines have led to a US Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness directive, which limits the operations of Rolls-Royce-fitted Dreamliners until a permanent fix is implemented. Cirium

BA will still have 777-200ERs in 2030

British Airways will turn next year to replacing its large fleet of older-generation Boeing 777s, but indicates it will retain some of the aircraft until at least 2030.
The IAG-owned carrier has 46 in the fleet – comprising three 777-200s and 43 777-200ERs.
It will phase out the three -200s in 2020 by replacing them with three 777-300ERs under an operating lease agreement disclosed last year.
Speaking during a briefing on 8 November, new IAG chief financial officer Steve Gunning said BA was maintaining its aim to phase out the last Boeing 747-400 in February 2024.
Iberia would follow with the withdrawal of its last Airbus A340-600 in 2025. The type is being succeeded by A350-900s, of which Iberia has ordered 20.
Gunning says the remaining 43 777-200ERs make up the "last big core fleet" that is due to undergo replacement.
BA has ordered 18 Boeing 777-9s which will succeed 14 747s and part of the 777-200ER fleet. But BA has yet to clarify its longer-term replacement plan for the -200ERs.
It has another 24 777-9s on option.
The UK flag-carrier is the third-largest operator of 777-200ERs behind United Airlines and American Airlines.
IAG indicates that BA will replace 35 of the twinjets over the five-year period from 2025 to 2029, with 23 being phased out over 2028-29.
"By the time we get to the end of 2029 we'll only have eight [777-200ERs] to replace," says Gunning.
He points out that there is no upcoming "replacement spike" for the IAG long-haul fleet. Over the next three years, 2020-22, IAG will introduce 51 new long-haul aircraft for replacement and expansion, including several long-range Airbus A321neos and the first 777-9s.
Another 66 replacements will be spread over the subsequent seven years, 2023-29, among them the 35 777-200ERs. IAG will modernise during this period with types including the 777-9, A321XLR, and its remaining 787 and A350 deliveries.
