Etihad Airways incrementerà i collegamenti verso l’Italia con un volo giornaliero per Venezia.
La compagnia aerea nazionale degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, incrementerà i collegamenti verso l’Italia con un volo giornaliero per l’aeroporto Marco Polo di Venezia.
Il nuovo collegamento sarà attivo a partire dal 30 ottobre 2016 e sarà operato da un Airbus A319, che offre 16 posti in Business Class e 90 in Economy. Etihad Airways, insieme all’equity e codeshare partner Alitalia, offrirà 35 voli settimanali da e per l’Italia, tra cui doppi collegamenti giornalieri per Roma e Milano.
Il volo veneziano di Etihad offrirà tempi di viaggio ottimali per gli ospiti che si spostano tra gli Emirati Arabi Uniti e la città italiana. Inoltre, il nuovo volo offrirà collegamenti diretti attraverso l’hub di Abu Dhabi verso le destinazioni australiane Sydney e Melbourne, così come verso i paesi del GCC, il subcontinente indiano, il sud-est asiatico e l’Asia del nord-est.
Venezia, rinomata per i suoi ponti pittoreschi e per i canali, è una delle destinazioni turistiche più popolari al mondo, mentre l’Italia è il 5° paese più visitato – con oltre 50 milioni di arrivi dall’estero nel 2015 secondo l’Organizzazione Mondiale del Turismo (UNWTO).
Etihad Airways ha iniziato a volare su Milano nel 2007 e su Roma nel 2014, contribuendo al consolidamento di una forte relazione commerciale tra gli Emirati Arabi Uniti e l’Italia. Il valore degli scambi bilaterali ha raggiunto i 6,14 miliardi di dollari nel 2015, e il Ministero dell’Economia degli Emirati Arabi Uniti ha registrato più di 90 aziende italiane.
Kevin Knight, Chief Strategy and Planning Officer di Etihad Airways, ha dichiarato: “Il lancio del nostro collegamento per Venezia supporta ulteriormente una rotta di grande successo tra l’Italia, il nostro hub di Abu Dhabi e tutto il network Etihad fino all’Australia. Insieme al nostro equity e codeshare partner Alitalia, stiamo inoltre rafforzando il rilevante rapporto commerciale tra l’Italia e gli Emirati Arabi Uniti”.
Alitalia attualmente opera la rotta Venezia-Abu Dhabi in codeshare con Etihad Airways, e ha deciso di ridistribuire i suoi aerei sulla rete internazionale a partire dal prossimo inverno. Alitalia opererà in codeshare sul nuovo volo Etihad, mantenendo l’accesso ad Abu Dhabi e alla rete globale di Etihad Airways per i suoi clienti basati a Venezia.
