We are the first to fly the Boeing 787 nonstop from Brazil to the U.S. with the launch of our daily 787-8 service from GRU (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to IAH, which began April 8. We currently operate the route using Boeing 777s but regularly review our fleet decisions and move aircraft around our network based on changing market conditions.
The 787-8 has 219 seats – 36 lie-flat seats in United BusinessFirst and 183 seats in United Economy, including 70 Economy Plus extra-legroom seats.
We currently fly the 787 on 10 other routes: DEN-NRT, LAX-NRT, LAX-MEL (Melbourne, Australia), LAX-PVG (Shanghai, China), IAH-LOS (Lagos, Nigeria), IAH-LHR (London Heathrow), IAH-DEN, IAH-SFO, SFO-CTU (Chengdu, China) and SFO-KIX (Osaka, Japan).
