Ryanair apre sette rotte a Tallinn (anche Bergamo)

UPDATE

Ryanair in Tallinn: Are You Ready for December?

Ryanair planes, after many negotiations between the airline and Tallinn Airport, might finally appear in Tallinn already during the next December.

As Eesti Päevaleht has published, the Irish airline will fly to seven destination from Tallinn – unfortunately there is still no information about the names of the cities that Ryanair will connect Tallinn with.

Ryanair in Tallinn will also mark the end of a situation that saw Estonia being the only Baltic country without the Irish low cost carrier among the companies flying to and from its airports.

Negotiations between the Irish company and Tallinn airport already took place during the past but with no results as Tallinn airport did not accept changing its airport taxes – something that the low cost company considered being too high for its services.

Why now?

Tallinn airport will receive a really important budget injection during next year. Around 65 million Kroons are going to be invested in the airport, and this capital increase will allow the airport to decrease its taxes and open, at the same time, more routes thanks to low-cost companies.

Erik Sakkov, board member of Tallinn Airport, said that “Current and potential clients have been sent “very aggressive” new route discounts. This means that if a carrier opens a route from Tallinn, it gets a discount on airport taxes.”

He did not give any more information about companies or about how big is going to be the discount.
