Nuova premium economy Turkish Airlines


A quanto pare i vertici di TK leggono assiduamente il forum e viste le numerose critiche al rivestimento in velluto chiaro, hanno riveduto le loro decisioni iniziali adottando un bel rivestimento in pelle scura.

Turkish Airlines launches new ‘Comfort Class’

Turkish Airlines introduced a new Comfort Class to its offerings of economy, business and first class.

The new service level, to be placed between the economy and business cabins, will offer fixed-shell seats with a 45-in. pitch and 19.3-in.width (ATW Daily News, March 1).The seats will include personal display screens with 10.6-in. armrest screens to enable passengers to use personal USB devices or iPODs.

TK will begin to offer Comfort Class on trunk routes from Istanbul Ataturk to Beijing, Shanghai Pudong, Tokyo Narita, Bangkok, Sao Paulo Guarulhos and Toronto on its new 777-300ERs. Depending on the 777 delivery schedule, the new class also will be offered on flights to New York JFK, Chicago and Washington Dulles.

Infine ecco la PR ufficiale. Da notare che nelle 4 foto a corredo, 3 sono con la poltrona "vellutata" e solo una con il rivestimento in pelle. Boh..
Ne approfitto per segnalare che questa stessa poltrona sarà installata come business class in tutti i nuovi NB di TK. E in questo caso, le J che tutte le major europee hanno sui 320/737, non sono nemmeno paragonabili.

Passengers will experience comfort in “Comfort Class” at inexpensive rates…

Turkish Airlines opens doors for new privileges in the sky. A new class will be added on along with the Economy Class, Business Class and First Class. The new class will be placed between the Economy Class and Business Class and named as the Comfort Class. The purpose is to combine the convenience of Business Class with the reasonable purchasing rates of Economy Class.

Turkish Airlines will begin to offer the “Comfort Class” on trunk routes to Beijing, Shanghay, Narita, Bangkok, Sao Paulo and Toronto on its the new B777 aircraft upon their arrival. Depending on delivery time of the new B777s to join the fleet the Comfort Class will be offered on the flights to New York, Chicago and Washington D.C. as well.

The Comfort Class seats as the most important privileges that Comfort Class will provide for the passengers have been designed for this category while the knee space and sitting space are kept at its maximum range. The seat pitch of 116 cm and seat width of 49 cm are the leading features of the Comfort Class.

Having their own individual display screens with the 10.6“ in-arm screens embedded on each seats the passengers will be able watch as many films, serials, documentaries and cartoons as they wish while they can access the entire visual archives instantly. Passengers who want to rest their legs will have the apparatus of leg rest stowed beneath the seas.

Many passengers wish to access their own individual digital archives during the flights. This detail was not skipped on these newly designed seats as well. The passengers will be able to access their files by simply using their personal USB devices or iPODs.

Grandissima mossa da parte di Turkish! Mi piacerebbe che anche Alitalia ideasse un prodotto così ma la flessibilità Y/C che c'è ora sulla flotta A32S sparirebbe.
 
Cioè, questa è una premium economy? Alla faccia, le altre danno giusto 2-3 cm più in larghezza e una decina in lunghezza, questa ha un sedile da business.

Alitalia ha già il medesimo prodotto, installato sui tripli, e si chiama Magnifica :D

Sono esattamente le stesse, per la precisione Recaro CL 4420, che vengono utilizzati anche da svariate altre compagnie nel mondo, soprattutto sui NB (vedi Delta, Virgin America, etc). :D
 
Non è il grado che mi qualifica una persona migliore o più importante delle altre (anzi), e ammetto di avere anche io un bel carattere, ma credo che ci sia modo e modo di esternare ciò che si pensa. Tutto qui :)
 
Stanno consegnando a TK il primo 77W di proprietà. Oltre alle nuove J e Y+, c' è una prima foto anche della Y: layout 3-3-3, IFE Panasonic Ex2 con telecomando, prese per connessioni varie e monitor da 10.6'. Sembra la Y di SQ...

La versione definitiva della Y+ montata sul 77W. il layout è 2-3-2, lo stesso della J di AF. Le poltrone sono più larghe di ben 10cm di quelle utilizzate da AZ ed AF.
Il pitch è confermato a 45'. Promette di essere un prodotto davvero molto confortevole. I colori però mi lasciano perplesso.

Come "hard product" è tutto tranne che una novità, ma è interessante la scelta di proporlo come Y+. Il successo comunque si decreterà in base ai prezzi...
Colori inguardabili; avrei optato per un'altra gamma cromatica.

Mah... decisamente meglio del celeste che usano in Y
