Il costumer code doveva essere abolito con l'avvio della commercializzazione del 787, perché ormai inutile ai fini della tracciabilità della storia della macchina, pertanto la scelta di skyliner non è completamente sbagliata.

Capito, grazie.

Paving the way to first delivery

24 NOVEMBER 2015 PRESS RELEASE
The world's best-selling single aisle aircraft, the A320neo, has received joint Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on 24th November 2015. The certified aircraft is powered by Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100G-JM engines.

The EASA A320neo type Certificate was signed by EASA’s Certification Director Trevor Woods and the FAA A320neo Type Certificate by Jeffrey Duven, FAA Manager of Transport Airplane Directorate - Aircraft Certification Service. The Type Certificates were handed over to Airbus’ Executive Vice President Engineering, Charles Champion and Airbus A320neo Chief Engineer Pierre-Henri Brousse.

“This double seal of approval represents a great achievement for Airbus. It recognizes the hard work performed by all the teams at Airbus and Pratt & Whitney. It demonstrates the A320neo is meeting all requirements,” said Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President and CEO. “The A320neo is now cleared for its first delivery and ready to offer many airlines its winning combination of unbeatable economics and outstanding cabin comfort.”

The A320neo successfully completed a rigorous programme of certification which tested its airframe and systems well beyond their design limits to ensure the aircraft successfully met all airworthiness criteria.

The three flight test aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney engines successfully accumulated over 1,070 flight hours in some 350 flights. Of these 1,070 flight test hours, 300 were completed with the same aircraft in an airline like environment to ensure operational maturity at entry into service.

The A320neo with Pratt & Whitney engines is the first variant in the NEO Family to receive Type Certification. The A320neo with CFM engines will be certified in the coming months, the A321neo and A319neo in both engines variants will follow.

The A320neo Family incorporates latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklet wing tip devices, which together deliver more than 15 percent in fuel savings from day one and 20 percent by 2020 with further cabin innovations. Launched on 1st December 2010, the A320neo offers airlines an engine choice between the Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1100G-JM and the CFM International LEAP 1A engines. With more than 4,300 orders received from over 75 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured some 60 percent share of the market.

Lufthansa, not Qatar, to be Airbus A320neo launch operator

Airbus is making a last-minute swap and now plans to deliver the first Airbus A320neo to Lufthansa, not to Qatar Airways.
According to industry sources, the change was made because of operational restrictions that are still in place for the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engine, pending some hardware and software changes. Pratt is working on hardware changes to the bearing of the engine shaft and a software update. Until those changes are made, the engine has to run in idle for 3 min. following startup. The aircraft cannot taxi under its own power until the 3 min. have elapsed.
According to the sources, Qatar Airways has told Airbus that it is not prepared to take the aircraft under these circumstances, and will not do so until the restrictions are lifted. Changes are expected to be implemented within a matter of weeks.
Lufthansa Group CEO Carsten Spohr confirmed to ATW’s sister publication Aviation Daily that his airline has agreed, in principle, to take the first A320neo. Some regulatory issues have to be sorted out and the airline expects to be financially compensated for the operational restrictions that are in place for now. The negotiations could, therefore, still fail. However, if the two sides come to an agreement, the first A320neo is now expected to be delivered to Lufthansa from Hamburg-Finkenwerder on Dec. 22, which would enable Airbus to stick to its target of delivering the first aircraft before the end of the year.
Lufthansa plans to introduce the first A320neo into revenue service on Jan. 6. Because of the limitations to the engine it plans to deploy it on the Frankfurt-Hamburg route initially—it has large maintenance bases on both ends of it. The airline plans to take five A320neos in 2016.
Qatar Airways is now planned to become the second A320neo operator, followed by Indian low-cost carrier Indigo.
Lufthansa has ordered 101 A320neo-family aircraft. Qatar Airways has ordered a combined 50 A320neos and A321neos. Indigo is the largest single customer for the aircraft, with orders for 430 aircraft.
While Pratt & Whitney did not address the specific engine issues directly, it says both it and Airbus “are working very closely with Qatar Airways. We are excited that Qatar selected the Geared Turbofan engine to power their A320neo aircraft and we appreciate their business. Along with Airbus, we are continuing to work with early customers on the first delivery of the aircraft. The team is on track to deliver the first A320neo this year.”
The engine-maker adds that “our engines and the aircraft are certified and are ready for delivery to customers this year. Our GTF engine’s technology is meeting or exceeding performance requirements on fuel burn, noise and emissions and is ready to enter service at this time.” The three PW1100G-powered A320neo flight-test aircraft accumulated over 1,070 flight hours in more than 350 flights prior to aircraft certification.
The PW1100G-powered A320neo was certified close to schedule at the end of November, despite a number of engine-related issues during the flight-test program. Following the start of flight tests in September 2014, the first known issue developed in April 2015, following a bird strike on the first aircraft, MSN6101. Post-incident inspections unearthed a problem with a seal-retaining snap ring component buried so deep in the core that it required engine removal and replacement. The aircraft was subsequently grounded for four months, and only resumed flights in September.
The second test-aircraft, MSN6286, meanwhile joined the program in March 2015 but was also grounded through May, June and the majority of July while the same engine issue was corrected. Despite the recent certification, the second aircraft continues to fly, most recently conducting test and training missions around northern and western France. A third test aircraft—which was largely dedicated to building up hours on simulated airline-type operations—is also continuing to fly. Through early December, it has been flying medium-range flights from France to Spain and Finland.
Additional issues hit the PW1100G in October, when the first Pratt & Whitney-powered aircraft was completing hot-weather tests in Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. Although the aircraft performed well during the tests, Pratt made the decision to remove one of the engines as a precautionary move, after borescope inspections showed evidence of minor rubbing between the blades of the high-pressure compressor and the compressor wall. The aircraft diverted to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, and remained there for 11 days while a new engine was fitted. This aircraft also continues in test and is currently conducting high altitude takeoff and landing performance work in El Alto, Bolivia.

Lufthansa becomes launch customer of best-selling A320neo

20 JANUARY 2016 PRESS RELEASE
The Lufthansa Group, Airbus’ largest airline customer and operator, marks a major step in aviation history today by taking delivery of the first A320neo, the world’s best-selling and most fuel efficient single aisle aircraft.
Equipped with all new technology Pratt & Whitney PurePower® Geared Turbofan™ engines, the A320neo sets a new, even higher standard in aircraft efficiency, reducing emissions and noise as well as burning 15% less fuel than current generation aircraft from day one and 20% less by 2020.
“We are happy that today we are the first airline worldwide to receive the Airbus A320neo. Featuring the leading technology of Airbus and Pratt & Whitney, the A320neo is by far the most efficient and most silent aircraft on short- and medium-haul routes.
With lower fuel consumption and consequently lower CO2 emissions, the A320neo has a clearly improved environmental performance. Furthermore, the new jet engine technology makes the aircraft considerably quieter. As a result, we have ordered a total of 116 aircraft of this type for the airlines of the Lufthansa Group”, states Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
“Today we prove once again that as an aviation company and airline group we are pioneers in the development and introduction of technical innovations. In this year alone the Lufthansa Group will receive a total of 52 new aircraft, a number we have not received in years”, says Spohr.
“Pratt & Whitney congratulates Lufthansa as the launch customer for the A320neo aircraft powered by PW1100G-JM engines,” said Robert Leduc, Pratt & Whitney President.. “Airbus and Lufthansa have been important customers for Pratt & Whitney for many years. With the A320neo’s unprecedented reductions in fuel burn, emissions and noise, I am confident that these business relationships will have continued success for many years to come.”
“Handing over the first A320neo to a world’s leading airline and long standing Airbus customer, Lufthansa, is a truly great day for everyone at Airbus,” said Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President and CEO. “This occasion marks a new step forward to delivering on our promises and meeting our industry’s goal for sustainable aviation. The A320neo embodies Airbus’ passion and commitment to deliver maximum value and efficiency to our customers through continuous innovations.“
The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklet wing tip devices. With almost 4,500 orders received from nearly 80 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured some 60 percent share of the market.

Last year Lufthansa celebrated its 60[SUP]th[/SUP] anniversary since it started operations in 1955. In this period, Lufthansa Group’s Airbus orders have reached a combined total of 582 aircraft including 386 A320 Family, of which 116 are NEOs (71 A320neo and 45 A321neo). The full range of Airbus wide-body aircraft have been or will be a part of Lufthansa’s fleet from the innovative A300/A310 to the iconic A380 (14 in service), the versatile A330 to the modern and extra-comfortable A350 XWB (25 firm orders).

Lufthansa takes possession of the first Airbus A320neo in the world

20.01.16
Quieter and more efficient: Almost 50 per cent less noise emissions – 15 per cent less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions – First destinations Hamburg and Munich – New cabin arrangement for more efficient use of space and up to 180 seats

Today, on January 20, Lufthansa took possession of the first Airbus A320neo. Carsten Spohr, CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Airbus CEO Fabrice Brégier as well as Robert Leduc, the President of Pratt & Whitney and David Hess, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Aerospace for United Technologies made a special trip to Hamburg-Finkenwerder to celebrate the handover of the world's first A320neo. The deployment of the Airbus A320neo marks another step Lufthansa is taking towards a "three-liter fleet" (per passenger and 100 kilometers) and significantly contributes to noise reduction.
"We are pleased to be the first airline in the world to take possession of the Airbus A320neo today. The cutting-edge technologies of Airbus and Pratt & Whitney make the A320neo the most efficient and quietest aircraft for short- and medium-haul flights by far.
The lower fuel consumption results in lower CO2 emissions and gives the A320neo a significantly improved carbon footprint. The new engine technology also makes the aircraft significantly quieter," says Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. "Today we are proving once again that we as an aviation and airline group are pioneers in the development and introduction of technological innovations. This year alone Lufthansa will take possession of a total of 52 new aircraft for the group’s airlines" says Spohr.
What makes the A320neo stand out are the new engines and improved aerodynamics. The addition of "neo" stands for "New Engine Option". The aircraft is 15 percent more fuel efficient than today's comparable models. It also shows impressive figures in terms of noise reduction: the 85 decibel maximum noise-level contour of a starting A320neo is around 50 per cent lower than that of the current A320. In accordance with certification standards, the cumulative noise emissions are about 29.8 dB below the applicable ICAO limits, which represents a significant advance in terms of noise and emissions reduction compared to the current fleet.
This is possible thanks to the new engine technology. The PW1100G engines feature so-called "Geared Turbofan" technology, which leads to a significant reduction in noise levels and fuel consumption through the transformation of drive power. 60 neo-aircraft with PW1100G engines will be delivered to the Lufthansa Group.
In addition to the new engine technology, all new A320neo and A321neo aircraft will already be equipped with vortex generators on delivery, which have an additional noise- reducing effect. The wings are fitted with the recently newly developed wingtips. The 2.4 meter long winglets (sharklets) lead to less fuel consumption due to the resulting aerodynamic advantages.
The first Lufthansa Airbus A320neo with the registration D-AINA (MSN 6801) is expected to be transferred to its future home base in Frankfurt later this week, before the aircraft will be used for its first commercial flight to Hamburg on 24 January. In addition to Hamburg Munich will also be one of the first two destinations of the A320neo.
The A320neo has a total of 180 seats for Business Class and Economy Class passengers. Inside the cabin, the galleys and lavatories in the front and back of the aircraft have been newly arranged, allowing for a more efficient use of available space. Business Class passengers therefore benefit from greater legroom in the front rows, and the new arrangement also creates room for a further two rows with 12 additional seats in Economy Class.
The Lufthansa Group has ordered a total of 116 neo-type aircraft, 45 of them the larger A321neo version. These new aircraft are intended for Lufthansa and Swiss. This order represents an investment of 13.3 billion US dollars according to list price. By the end of 2016, a total of five A320neo aircraft should have been handed over to Lufthansa and also be in use at the Lufthansa hub Frankfurt. The Lufthansa Group fleet is currently undergoing a fundamental renewal. The Group’s order shows a total of 251 brand-new aircraft at a list price value of about 30 billion euros to date. These are to be delivered by 2025.

Lufthansa says takes delivery of second A320neo

Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) has taken delivery of a second Airbus (AIR.PA) A320neo, it said on Thursday, but the German airline also said engine issues which had delayed its taking delivery of the plane were not yet fully resolved.
Lufthansa stepped in as the first operator of the A320neo after it was found that the Geared Turbofan engines made by Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corp (UTX.N), needed longer than usual to start under some circumstances.
As a result, Lufthansa is only operating its first A320neo on routes within Germany, where it has a large base of engineers. The second aircraft will also be used only on German domestic routes for now. It took delivery of its first A320neo in January.
A Lufthansa spokeswoman said that a working group from Airbus and Pratt & Whitney was still investigating the problems, but the German carrier had come to an arrangement with Airbus over compensating for the restrictions on operation.
She declined to specify the nature of the compensation, but said the jet was absolutely safe and was flying well.
The German carrier's second A320neo will be based in Frankfurt and operate its first commercial flight on Friday, to the German city of Duesseldorf.
Lufthansa is due to receive five A320neos in total this year, with the third due in summer and the next two in the autumn.

Qatar Airways in talks with Boeing over narrowbody plane deal

Airline CEO unhappy with Airbus’s delays in producing its A320neo planes

DUBAI—Qatar Airways Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said Monday he has begun talks with Boeing Co. about a potential narrowbody-plane order, ratcheting up pressure on Airbus over delays to its newest single-aisle jet.
Mr. Al Baker previously had threatened to walk away from a deal for Airbus A320neo planes due to concerns over the engines made byUnited Technologies Corp.’s Pratt & Whitney unit.
“We are studying our options,” Mr. Al Baker said on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market conference in Dubai. The talks with Boeing are the most concrete sign Qatar Airways may walk away from at least part of its order for 34 A320neo and 16 A321neo planes.
Qatar Airways was due to receive the first A320neo last year, but stepped back from that role as launch operator because the airline said the plane and engine weren’t ready. Deutsche Lufthansa AG became the launch operator of the plane when it received the first model in January.
Problems with the plane go beyond the engine and include its hydraulics, Mr. Al Baker said, without providing details. “We are a very unhappy customer.”
An Airbus spokesman said the company expects teething issues, which he described as “normal,” to be resolved by midyear. Airbus has delivered only five A320neo planes so far, with others built but waiting for engines.
Mr. Al Baker said Boeing was trying to accommodate Qatar Airways’ need for planes. A Boeing spokesman declined to comment on the company’s conversations with its customers.

Sicuramente, pero' vorrei sottolineare che Al Baker ha detto:
"Problems with the plane go beyond the engine and include its hydraulics, Mr. Al Baker said, without providing details."
Sarebbe interessante sapere quali siano questi ulteriori problemi idraulici di cui parla.
