AirOne - Inizio long-haul rinviato di due settimane

Sai che me lo sono chiesto anch'io? Mi sono risposto pensando che magari Roma, Palermo, Bari e Napoli in estate tirano di più e quindi potevano osare anche una tariffa più altina.
Oppure contano sul fatto di avere una maggiore clientela fidelizzata (a Milano fino a poco fa credo che non pochi volassero Alitalia piuttosto che AirOne).
Oppure ancora contano sul fatto di operare rotte con poca concorrenza (in realtà questo si adatta solo a lamezia, palermo (soprattutto) e bari, visto che roma e napoli hanno tutte le altre majors che offrono connessioni).

Mah.. non so, non riesco proprio a trovarci una logica. Da MXP sono solo loro ad operare un diretto su ORD e BOS, la tariffa più alta sarebbe stata più che giustificata o almeno uniformata a quelle in connessione (e non ben 200€ in meno!), mentre da FCO c'è la forte concorrenza dei diretti (2 su ORD e 1 su BOS).

Brief delay for launch of Air One's U.S. routes

Italian carrier Air One is briefly postponing the launch of its first U.S. routes, Travel Weekly (free registration) reports. The airline's Boston-Milan route now will begin June 27 instead of June 14. Air One's Chicago O'Hare-Milan launch slides to June 26 from June 21. The carrier tells Travel Weekly the change is necessary because of a delivery delay of its new business-class seats. "Air One said it needs time to refurbish the old seats in the aircraft it obtained, and that it will install the new seats soon after launching U.S. service," Travel Weekly writes.

Quindi inizieranno i voli, nonostante il posticipo, con la vecchia configurazione di business ?

Meanwhile, Flight International writes that the "fast-growing (carrier) has placed a firm order for a dozen Airbus A350-800s and 12 firm A330-200s, together with options on 20 more, to support its move into long-haul operations. The Rome-based carrier has taken options on a dozen A350s in addition to the 12 on firm order. It has also secured options on eight A330s in addition to the 12 it has on firm order." Bloomberg News says Air One "plans to establish long-distance services to add to a European network that includes London, Frankfurt, Vienna and Paris. The A330s will be delivered by 2012 and the A350s by 2018, Airbus said."
