AirAsia partners with VisitBritain to lure Aussies over to UK
Wednesday, 14 April 2010
VisitBritain have partnered with Kuala Lumpur-based low cost carrier AirAsia in a new campaign to try and encourage Australians to travel over to the United Kingdom.
Announced yesterday, the new partnership targets travellers in the three Australian cities AirAsia flies: Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Perth. And also highlights the carrier's services from Kuala Lumpur to London Stansted.
"With incredibly low fares on offer and the Australian dollar soaring to a 25-year high against the British pound, there has never been a better time to explore Britain," said Darren Wright, AirAsia General Manager Australia.
Mark Haynes, VisitBritain's Marketing Manager, adds, "With some of the world's best festivals, shopping, pubs, clubs, sporting events, museums and galleries, awe-inspiring natural beauty and thousands of years of history, the only problem you'll have is choosing where to go first."
AirAsia's return ex-Australia to London Stansted fares, via Kuala Lumpur, can be purchased for under AU$1000. Tickets must be purchased before Tuesday next week, and be used for select travel dates in August to October, or December to February next year.
