Wizzair: aggiornamenti e nuove rotte

Wizz Air announces Starlink connectivity across its entire fleet from 2027

Effective 2027, Wizz Air will become the first ultra-low-cost airline in Europe to bring advanced in-flight Internet technology from Starlink to millions of passengers.

Starting next year, the installation of the systems will be implemented gradually, and time spent in flight will be transformed from offline to online. Passengers will be able to benefit from high-speed, reliable and low-latency internet at altitudes above 9,000 meters. All of Wizz Air’s next-generation aircraft are expected to be equipped with Starlink, providing a consistent onboard experience, regardless of route or destination.

The announcement marks a significant milestone not only for Wizz Air, but also for the evolution of affordable and always-connected air travel. For years, high-quality in-flight connectivity has been considered an exclusive benefit of premium tickets. Wizz Air is changing this paradigm by choosing Starlink to bring aviation’s most advanced connectivity solutions to the ultra-low-cost segment.

“Ultra-low-cost travel has always been about making the flying experience accessible to as many people as possible,” said Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer at Wizz Air. “In 2027, we are taking this philosophy into the space age. Our customers should not have to choose between affordable fares and reliable internet access on board to stay connected to the people, activities and moments that matter most. We are proud to lead this change by partnering with Starlink and bringing maximum benefits to Wizz Air passengers. Let’s WIZZ!”

“We are excited to bring Starlink aboard Wizz Air aircraft and transform the travel experience for millions of its customers. Maintaining seamless connectivity for passengers and crew at over 30,000 feet is exactly what this technology was designed for. We look forward to delivering reliable, high-speed internet from takeoff to landing,” said Jason Fritch, Vice President of Starlink Enterprise Sales at SpaceX.
