Vueling cuts FY EBITDAR forecast to loss of up to 10 mln eur
MADRID (Thomson Financial) - Vueling Airlines SA said it has cut its forecast for full year 2007 EBITDAR -- earnings before income tax, depreciation, amortisation and rental of non-fleet assets -- to a loss of up to 10 mln eur 'in the worst case scenario'.
In a statement, Vueling said it has lowered its estimates from August's forecasts of EBITDAR of 23-42 mln eur for 2007 due to lower than expected revenue per ticket per passenger and a lower load factor.
August and September ticket sales for flights in the fourth quarter had been lower than the airline had forecast, Vueling said.
The airline noted that a 10 pct cut in an average ticket price implies a 30.4 mln eur revenue drop for year-end.
High oil prices and the euro strength against the US dollar also continued to play a factor, Vueling added.
In addition, tax credits for the airline have been cancelled since it was loss-making at June 30, the company said, but noted that this would not have any effect on its end-of-year results.
Trading in Vueling's securities was suspended yesterday before the market opened ahead of the announcement, which came after the close.
