Una volta ho osato dire su questo forum che negli stabilimenti Alenia (localizzati vicino alla mia città natale) c'era una mancanza di qualità dovuta ad un gap culturale, che solo il tempo avrebbe sanato.
Mi è stato dato del razzista e classista.
Purtroppo questa è una conferma e basta leggere i commenti sui siti come flightglobal per capire come la tanto decantata industria italiana non sia poi così "eccellente" come vogliono dirci.
Quando dico che entrare in Airbus sarebbe stato utile all'Italia, intendo proprio questo. Sarebbe stata l'occasione per innalzare il livello tecnico della nostra ingegneria.
Invece no, ci piace fare i fornitori "bipartisan" e questi sono i risultati.
La parola "qualità", in campo aeronautico, non è un'opzione di secondo piano. E' la prassi.

Boeing restarted 787 flight testing Sunday and Monday following a three-day suspension to inspect the Alenia Aeronautica-produced horizontal stabilizers on its five flight test aircraft.
The manufacturer also is conducting testing on all its in-production Dreamliners. In what appeared to be the first major snag since launching flight testing last December, the company cited a "workmanship issue" that was "recently identified" with the horizontal stabilizers, explaining, "Some airplanes have issues with improperly installed shims and the torque of associated fasteners."
It insisted that first delivery to ANA in the fourth quarter "remains on track." According to both the Seattle Times and SeattlePI, two of the five flight test aircraft have resumed flying (the sixth and final flight test aircraft is slated to make its first flight next month).
Boeing made no comment on whether it has found issues with the horizontal stabilizers on flight test or production aircraft that would require rework.

Vergogna!! e solo pochi mesi fa il Guarguaglini se ne esce con la notizia dell' imminente firma di un accordo quadro con Boeing su vari fronti..a leggere i comunicati dei ritardi del plasticone c' era il sospetto che nel dico non dico sui colpevoli ci fosse la nostra impronta; ora si devono essere rotti le scatole a Seattle e siamo sputtanati su tutti i siti; WSJ, Flight, per dire, ed oggi anche il nostro Repubblica si e' accorto che le cose vanno male e pubblica un articolo su Finmeccanica. Il contratto con UAE per il 346 sta andando a putt. e altri problemi sul fronte ferroviario. Un bel quadro davvero!
Per quanto riguarda la cultura della qualita' posso essere anche d' accordo che non si improvvisa, ma se questa e' debole, si deve avere un controllo molto molto robusto...

Qantas Airways has reached a deal with Boeing to bring forward delivery of eight Boeing 787-8s, so its low-cost carrier Jetstar can start operating the aircraft in mid-2012.
The Oneworld carrier has 50 787s on order and the first was due to be delivered in 2014, but Qantas now says the first will be delivered in mid-2012. Altogether eight 787-8s on order have been brought forward by about two years, it says.
These will be assigned to Jetstar which plans to use the aircraft for international flights to Asia and southern Europe and to replace its Airbus A330s.
Qantas says the remaining seven 787-8s and 35 787-9s on order will be delivered from 2014.
Jetstar will have 25 787s altogether and the other 25 787s will be for Qantas mainline.

Curiosita' pura e semplice....ma c'e' qualcuno tra di voi che vorrebbe fare il passeggero sul primo volo LH di questo aereo?.....
Non vedo perché no, il 787 è portatore di non poche innovazioni dal punto di vista architetturale.
Sul primo volo ci puoi andare tranquillo... quello che eviterei è l'aereo dopo un bel po' di cicli, dato che il comportamento a fatica dei compositi è ancora un campo in gran parte da esplorare.

Quando volera' in servizio passeggeri, di voli ne avra' fatti centinaia. Non vedo perche' dovrebbe preoccupare.
Sembra di essere tornati ai ben vecchi tempi: un giorno si dice tutto OK, quello dopo si annuncia un ritardo di svariati mesi...

With its debut at the 2010 Farnborough air show days away, Boeing has issued a "cautionary note" that the first 787 delivery could slip into early 2011, citing slower than anticipated instrumentation configuration changes and inspections of the horizontal stabiliser.
Boeing vice president and general manager Scott Fancher says some of the recent issues have "stacked up" and "could see [first delivery] move a few weeks into the new year".
Fancher says the schedule has not officially slipped beyond the fourth quarter timeframe to early to 2011, but adds the airframer will provide more information "as we get closer to the conclusion of flight test".

"None of the issues have to do with airplane performance," says Fancher, who emphasises the aircraft continue to perform as expected, adding the fleet of five flying 787 test aircraft has accumulated more than 1,100h of flight testing over 365 flights.
Boeing aims to complete 2,400h of flight testing on its four Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 powered test aircraft.
Fancher declined to say which instrumentation configuration changes had slowed the flight test programme that began in December 2009, though preparation for flight test aircraft ZA004's flight loads survey and returning ZA001, which last flew on 12 June, to flight testing, are believed to have taken significantly longer than first planned.
"We'll do one block of testing with one [instrumentation] configuration, then change," says Fancher who adds the changes have "taken a bit longer than first planned".
Additionally, Fancher says that inspections of the horizontal stabilisers of the test fleet are now complete, but that process has "led to a little bit of schedule pressure".
Following the revelation of the workmanship issue on 24 June that prompted the inspections, Boeing insisted the "issue will be addressed within the existing programme schedule," though that expectation appears to have shifted.
As a result, first flight of the sixth flight test aircraft, ZA006, the second General Electric GEnx-1B powered 787, has slid to August, says Fancher.
Boeing confirms ZA003, which will represent the company at the Farnborough air show, and ZA001, have both required re-work of their horizontal stabilisers.
In April a source at launch customer ANA indicated the carrier anticipated a slide in the schedule that could result in an early 2011 delivery.

Boeing issued a short statement on the 'Package A' Trent 1000 engine failure in Derby:
"Boeing is actively participating in the investigation into this event with Rolls-Royce. There has been no impact on the flight test program to date as a result of this event."
While the statement reiterates what Rolls-Royce said earlier in the week about the investigation, Boeing places a significant qualifier on any impact to 787 flight test with the worlds "to date". Package B Trent 1000 engines have yet to fly on ZA004, which is currently undergoing flight loads survey in Victorville, California.
An investigation will yield whether or not the failure, still believed to have been uncontained, was a one-off event or a systemic event, though Rolls-Royce's comment suggesting "a modification is already in place for later engines" points to an issue with the early Trent 1000s.

A questo punto credo sarà inevitabile spostare l' inizio delle consegne al 2011 (toccando ferro...).
PS E' sicuramente colpa di Alenia se i motori RR lavorano male.
Adesso voglio vedere se si accaniscono contro Rolls Royce, come hanno fatto contro Alenia..... Quoto belumosi che in finale ha scritto un pensiero di molti....

I test sui motori GE sono in fase avanzata ed è previsto che le prime macchine siano pronte per la consegna entro il primo trimestre 2011. Sarebbe curioso se la versione motorizzata GE finisse sul mercato prima della RR: in tal caso, la prima consegna andrebbe a Royal Air Maroc.
Comunque non è una bella figura per RR che già sul 380 non ha avuto molto successo (i motori GE risultano avere consumi inferiori).
