[h=1]Embraer and Boeing Team to Market and Sell KC-390 Medium-Airlift Aircraft[/h]PARIS, June 18, 2013 -- Embraer [NYSE: ERJ; BOVESPA: EMBR3] and Boeing [NYSE: BA] are partnering on the sales and marketing of Embraer's KC-390 – a multi-mission mobility and aerial refueling aircraft with advanced capabilities in the medium-sized airlift market.
Under the agreement, Boeing is the lead for KC-390 sales, sustainment and training opportunities in the U.S., UK and select Middle East markets. Embraer will manufacture the aircraft and collaborate on sales, sustainment and training.
"The KC-390 is an extremely capable aircraft that continues to attract interest by several nations, and Boeing's military transport expertise is ideal for teaming in the international market," said Luiz Carlos Aguiar, President and CEO of Embraer Defesa & Segurança. "This agreement strengthens the level of cooperation between both companies and the defense industries of Brazil and the United States."
The KC-390 originated as a defense project contracted by the Brazilian Air Force in 2009. The largest aircraft to be manufactured in Brazil, it features advanced capabilities in terms of performance, cargo, capacity, flexibility and life-cycle costs. Initial estimates of the potential market for KC-390 are approximately 700 aircraft, but that number is likely to increase after additional markets are analyzed. The project has completed the Critical Design Review and is on schedule.
Today's announcement builds upon the broad cooperation agreement Boeing and Embraer signed in 2012. The companies are collaborating on aircraft efficiency and safety, research and technology, defense products and sustainable aviation biofuels.
"Our relationship with Embraer continues to grow across Boeing and demonstrates our commitment to Brazil," Boeing Defense, Space & Security Business Development and Strategy Vice President Chris Raymond said today at the Paris Air Show. "KC-390 complements our mobility portfolio by providing a versatile, affordable aircraft."

[h=2]Commitment includes five 747-8 Intercontinentals and six 777-300ERs[/h]LE BOURGET, France, June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Korean Air today announced that the airline has agreed to purchase five 747-8 Intercontinental airplanes and six 777-300ER (Extended Range) jetliners, valued at approximately $3.6 billion at current list prices. Boeing will work with Korean Air to finalize the order, at which time the order will be posted to Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website.
"Korean Air is a valued Boeing customer and their commitment to add more Boeing twin-aisle airplanes to their fleet demonstrates our strong partnership," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. "Korean Air has steadily built its reputation as an early adopter of new technology and innovation and Boeing airplanes have played an instrumental role in that strategy."
Korean Air is the only airline in the world to order both the passenger and freighter variations of the 747-8. When today's order is finalized, Korea's flag carrier will have 10 747-8 Intercontinental airplanes on order. The airline has taken delivery of three of its seven 747-8 Freighters on order.
Korean Air currently operates a fleet of 90 Boeing passenger airplanes that consist of 737, 747 and 777 airplanes. The airline also operates an all-Boeing cargo fleet of 27 747-400, 747-8 and 777 Freighters. In February 2012, Korean Air became the first airline in the world to operate both the 747-8 and 777 Freighters.
"Boeing shares a unique relationship with Korean Air—both as a customer and a supplier for Boeing," said Conner. "Our partnership is built upon trust and is multifaceted, which brings us closer on many levels."
Korean Air's Aerospace Division is a key Boeing partner on both the 747-8 and 787 programs, supplying the distinctive raked wing-tips for each model.

World class Group signs for 25 aircraft firm plus 25 options

19 JUNE 2013 PRESS RELEASE
The Air France-KLM Group has finalized a firm contract for 25 A350-900 aircraft and for a further 25 options. These aircraft will become an essential element in the Group’s future fleet strategy.
"This order of new-generation, high performance aircraft reflects the importance of our investments for the benefit of our customers, whose comfort is at the heart of our concerns. With the A350, Air France-KLM will continue to operate one of the most modern fleets in the world, and ensure the growth of its long-haul activity, while achieving significant cost savings." said Alexandre de Juniac, Chairman and CEO of the Air France-KLM Group as of first of July 2013.

Ultima modifica:

Firm order for 30 A350-900s and 20 options convertible to A350-1000

19 JUNE 2013 PRESS RELEASE
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has increased its orders for the A350 XWB with an additional 30 A350-900s, plus options for a further 20 aircraft. The agreement firms up a commitment announced last month. Under the terms of the agreement, Singapore Airlines will be able to select either the baseline A350-900 or the larger A350-1000 when exercising the options.
This is the third order from Singapore Airlines for the A350 XWB. The deal sees the carrier’s total firm orders for the all-new aircraft increase to 70, plus 20 options. Singapore Airlines will operate the A350 XWB on long haul and regional services.
"We are pleased to announce this latest order from Singapore Airlines as the A350 XWB flight test campaign begins,” said John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers, Airbus. "It’s another clear endorsement of our all-new design A350 XWB, bringing a step change in efficiency and comfort to the mid-size widebody market with a single product family.”
The A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) is an all-new mid-size long range product line comprising three versions and seating between 270 and 350 passengers in typical three-class layouts. The aircraft will bring new levels of efficiency to the mid-size market, using 25 per cent less fuel than existing aircraft in this size category and providing an equivalent reduction in CO2 emissions.

35 A320 CEO: Easyjet
100 A320 NEO: Easyjet
easyJet ha fornito dettagli interessanti sull'accordo con Airbus e la strategia che implementeranno a margine di quest'ordine:

easyJet plc announces fleet plans

Following a highly competitive fleet selection process, easyJet plc ("easyJet" or the "Company") announces that, subject to shareholder approval, it has entered into arrangements (the "New Framework Arrangements") with Airbus S.A.S. ("Airbus") to acquire 35 Current Generation A320 Aircraft for delivery between 2015 and 2017 under its existing agreement and 100 New Generation A320neo Aircraft for delivery from 2017 until 2022, under a new agreement. Under this new agreement, Airbus has also granted the Company the right, but not the obligation, to acquire up to 100 further New Generation A320neo Family Aircraft.
Key highlights of the transaction:

  • Allows easyJet to continue to execute its successful strategy.

  • New generation aircraft sourced at highly attractive prices and at a greater percentage discount to list price than the Company’s existing Airbus contract.

  • Enhances easyJet’s cost advantage and mitigates against inflationary increases; the 180 seater New Generation A320neo Aircraft is expected to deliver a cost per seat saving of between 11% and 12%, compared to a 156 seater Current Generation A319 Aircraft.

  • 85 of 135 ordered aircraft will be used to replace ageing aircraft as they leave the fleet and return to lessors, with the remaining aircraft used to continue easyJet’s existing strategy of capacity seat growth of between 3% to 5% per annum.

  • Continues the high level of fleet flexibility provided by the current arrangements. Whilst the announcement today will deliver a fleet of 276 aircraft by 2022, as of today, the new arrangements also give easyJet the ability to manage the fleet size to between 165 and 298 aircraft in 2022 depending on economic conditions and opportunities available.

  • Total expected fleet acquisition and overhaul expenditure as a percentage of revenue is expected to fall from 18% in the period 2005 to 2012, to 10% to 12% in the period 2018 to 2022.
"I am delighted that easyJet is able to announce its fleet plans today.

"All manufacturers competed hard for the easyJet business. Both Airbus and Boeing offered us new generation aircraft that met our requirements and offered greatly improved fuel efficiency.
"Ultimately, Airbus offered us the best deal, and at a price with a greater discount to the list price than their landmark fleet purchase with easyJet in 2002.
"These arrangements combined with easyJet’s cost advantage, leading network and compelling customer proposition mean that easyJet is uniquely positioned to be a structural winner in European aviation.
"This is a great outcome for easyJet, our shareholders and our passengers, and will ensure that easyJet is able to continue its successful strategy of delivering profitable growth and returns to shareholders."
John Barton, easyJet Chairman, commented:
"Since joining the easyJet Board, I have spent a significant amount of time reviewing the rationale for ordering new aircraft and have been actively involved in the selection process, which I am sure has been robust and thorough. We have planned that the new fleet arrangements will be financed without recourse to shareholders and believe that the arrangements will enhance returns and dividends to shareholders.
"The new fleet arrangements will enable easyJet to continue its successful strategy of offering customerslow fares to convenient airports and efficient and friendly service"
