FlyOlympic filed (29-Jul-2014) for bankruptcy on 29-Jul-2014, “after two weeks of trying to find a solution to our financial difficulties.” As previously reported by CAPA, FlyOlympic launched weekly services to Asmara, Mogadishu and Stockholm Arlanda from Athens in Jun-2014, using Boeing 767-300ER equipment operated by SkyGreece Airlines. FlyOlympic stated: “The new operation to Africa performed dramatically below all reasonable expectations, and the losses sustained were too great for a company of our size to survive. We had discussed with several investment groups over the last 10 days in a bid to save the company but unfortunately time ran out. All flights are cancelled and all reservations are therefore also cancelled. FlySafair (FA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has set a new date for the relaunch of its operations. According to its website, the Safair (FA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) subsidiary will offer multiple daily flights from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth as well as to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo using a fleet of two B737-400s.
Scheduled for October 16, the new launch date falls almost a year after its previous maiden flight - set for October 17, 2013 - was cancelled when Comair (South Africa) (MN, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) and SkyWise (SW, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) successfully argued in a Pretoria high court that FlySafair's then shareholding structure did not conform to South African regulatory requirements concerning foreign ownership.
Since then, the carrier has restructured its ownership by excluding former shareholders while choosing a South African-registered holding company as another shareholder. It has also entered into a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) deal with its employees.
The start-up successfully applied for its Air Services Licence from the South African authorities in April of this year.

Dopo un anno l'unica della Spagna che ha preso il volo è stata Evelop, le altre neanche l'ombra. Sto controllando ma quasi nessuna è riuscita a decollare o se lo ha fatto è durata pochi giorni... peccato!

Fly Mojo, neonata compagnia aerea della Malesia si prepara a ordinare 20 velivoli Cs100 prodotti dalla canadese Bombardier, in una commessa del valore di 1,5 miliardi di dollari. Per Bombardier sarebbe davvero una buona notizia, visto che non è ancora riuscita a piazzare sul mercato i suoi nuovi velivoli, di dimensioni limitate pensati per il trasporto regionale, dopo i primi voli di test del 2013. La commessa per Fly Mojo potrebbe raddoppiare fino a 40 aerei per un incasso complessivo di quasi 3 miliardi di dollari. Fly Mojo, basata al Senai International Airport di Johor Bahru (nella punta meridionale della penisola malese) e con un hub secondario a Kota Kinabalu, avvierà le operazioni di volo nel primo trimestre del 2016, con un network concentrato su destinazioni regionali.

Appendo qui anche se non c'entra, tra pochi giorni dovrebbe aprire l'aeroporto di Pisco.
Qui in Perù la radio pubblicizza il volo Madrid-Lima di Plus Ultra, che dovrebbe iniziare dal 10 giugno insieme al Madrid-Santo Domingo, operato con A340-300. Penso quindi che si tratti di un volo solo con scalo.
Appendo qui anche se non c'entra, tra pochi giorni dovrebbe aprire l'aeroporto di Pisco.

Pensavo che il viaggio richiedess lo scalo a Santo Domingo, essendo il viaggio un po' lungo per un A340 (per quanto ne sappia io), ma vedo che c'è almeno un giorno in cui lo scalo non è previsto.
