Da fonti dell'aeroporto di Bruxelles abbiamo l'anticipazione degli operativi di lungo raggio praticamente definitivi per la prossima stagione estiva di Jet Airways.


Rispetto all'orario corrente ci sono diverse modifiche di rilievo:

C'è poco da dire, se non chapeau!
 
Logico collegare Bangalore, la capitale indiana dell' informatica, alla California, ma per quel tipo di traffico sarebbe stato più logico arrivare a SFO.
Al posto di Jet avrei fatto un pensierino su Stansted, ma forse BAA non vuole creare concorrenti a LHR. I voli per l' India avrebbero avuto più successo dall' Inghilterra, che genera la maggior parte del traffico dall' Europa. Non ho capito se ci sono accordi con SN per fare il feed di BRU.

Quoto, la Silicon Valley è decisamente più raggiungibile da SFO.

Non c'è che dire un network invidiabile.

Goyal, Branson may go for equity swap

Will give Jet a stake in Brussels Airlines, in which Virgin Group has a holding

MUMBAI: Naresh Goyal’s Jet Airways may swap equity with Richard Branson’s Virgin group for acquiring a stake in Belgium-based Brussels Airlines.

The Virgin Group, promoted by Branson, holds a 29.9% stake in SN Airholding, the parent of Brussels Airlines.

The move would be a masterstroke for Goyal’s Jet Airways as it will give airline a commanding lead over its private peers such as Kingfisher Airlines, which are still working their way for permits to fly overseas.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, chief executive officer, Jet Airways, said, “I cannot comment on this. There are no concrete plans on this.”

Analysts believe that the move makes eminent sense for the Indian entrepreneur, as it would help him, in one single stroke, to add several destinations from its European hub in Brussels for Indian travellers.

Brussels Airlines and Jet Airways already share facilities in Brussels and are now moving towards a code-sharing agreement.

The news of a swap deal between Branson and Goyal was first reported by Trends-Tendances, a Belgian magazine.

The magazine valued the equity swap deal at four Jet Airways shares each for one SN Airholding (the holding company of Brussels Air) share.

SN Airholding’s board of directors was scheduled to meet late on Thursday night, according to Trends-Tendances.

Observers dub the move as the canny Naresh Goyal’s bid to kill two, if not four birds, with one stone. In fact, Naresh Goyal had earlier hinted at a possible co-operation between Jet Airways and Brussels Airways without taking over the airline.

The advantages of such a deal are obvious. For one, the deal would bring down Jet Airways chairman Goyal’s stake in India’s largest airline to under 75%, as per Securities and Exchange Board of India guidelines.

Two, it gives an all-new thrust and dimension to Goyal’s international plans. He can leverage Brussels Airlines, giving him a huge lead in the race with Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines and Deccan Aviation, when they become eligible for international flights.

Jet uses Brussels as its European hub and the deal would give it extended reach, which would also feed its domestic network.

Brussels Airlines has about 50 aircraft, which include 10 Boeing 737-300s, that connects over 50 destinations in Europe.

Thirdly, such a deal would effectively stop Mallya and his flamboyant Virgin Airlines counterpart Richard Branson from coming together — a speculation that refuses to fade as the two colourful personalities have enough chemistry to tie up an alliance in the future.

In addition, Jet Airways needn’t wait for new aircraft to be delivered. Instead, it can use Brussels Airlines more optimally, which is not the case now.

The cabin crew problem could also be solved in one stroke. Jet is already setting up a training centre in Brussels.

If the deal fructifies, Jet will further consolidate its position in Belgium. Jet gets the preferred status at Brussels airport and the state has put its might behind the airline.

Il problema è che non disponiamo di una compagnia aerea che possa effettuare voli feeder verso destinazioni europee. Ad MXP si parla di abbandono di AZ ma non di subentro AP, ad FCO si paventa il ritorno di AZ ma in che condizioni sarà tra qualche mese? Nella mia ignoranza anche io al posto di Jet airways avrei privilegiato BRU al posto di FCO ed MXP. Ora la speranza è di avere in futuro almeno un volo dall'Italia non stop per l'India(dando per certo l'abbandono di DEL e BOM da parte di AZ).
