Se non ricordo male l'unico "incidente" con vittime della quantas è stato quando uno dei suoi idrovolanti è stato abbattutto da 2 zero giapponesi durante la seconda guerra mondiale!

Mi sa che da qua si puo confermare che le scintille erano causate dal movimento dei dischi turbina (una volta che hanno spento il motore le scintille sono continuate in quanto i dischi continuavano a girare a causa dell' aria che entrava nel motore)
