Ovviamente non vuol dire che apriranno tutte queste destinazioni, però è un'indicazione interessante su cosa vogliono fare da grandi.
Avianca has applied for the following frequencies, which are subject to government approval the next October, 28.
- BOG-LHR-BOG: 7 weekly; 330.
- BOG-FRA-BOG: 7 weekly; 330.
- BOG-VLC-BOG: 2 weekly; 330.
- BOG-ALC-BCN-BOG: 4 weekly; 330.
- BOG-MAD-BOG: +2 weekly; 330 (for a total of 9 weekly).
The request of these rights does not mean that AV would launch the flights immediately if they are granted, because I think that AV won't have long-haul avalaible aircraft for some time, unless the plans have changed recently.
The source mentions "London" and I suppose it would be LHR, but there's no indication about it. As for FRA, I don't understand why they serve it before CDG unless this indicates that AV is flirting with Star Alliance.
The Colombia-Spain billateral allows, for Colombian carriers, 21 non-stop freq. to MAD or BCN. AV holds rights for 7 weekly BOG-MAD, 6 weekly CLO-MAD, 2 weekly MDE-MAD and 4 weekly BOG-BCN. With the additional 2 weekly to MAD they are requesting, they will hold all the freq. currently available. I though they would have requested 1 weekly CLO-MAD, to make the flight daily.
The billateral also allows for 4 freq. to MAD or BCN via ALC or the Canary Islands, and that's why they request BOG-ALC-BCN-BOG, route they have already operated recently. And finally, 3 weekly flights are allowed to another destination, and they have chosen VLC, the largest city in Spain after MAD and BCN. (Summarizing, only 1 weekly freq. would remain avalaible for the Colombian part; while 15 for the Spanish one, with only Iberia to BOG in the game).
Finally, apart from that, both TAM and Ocean Air requested a daily GRU-BOG with 320 and 319.
