Boeing ha messo a segno il primo colpo importante con un ordine per 50 787 da ILFC

LE BOURGET, France, June 19, 2007 -- Boeing [NYSE:BA] and International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC) today announced that the two companies have finalized orders for 63 airplanes worth approximately $8.8 billion at current list prices.

ILFC will expand its fleet with a new order for 50 additional 787 Dreamliners. ILFC will take delivery of its first 787 Dreamliner in 2010, with additional airplanes arriving through 2017. Today's order also includes 10 Next-Generation 737s, which extends ILFC's delivery stream through 2012

In addition, Boeing and ILFC disclosed an order booked earlier this year exercising options for two 787-8 Dreamliners and one 777-300ER (Extended Range) for delivery in early 2009, which was previously listed on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries Web site and attributed to an unidentified customer.

With today's announcement, ILFC becomes the largest customer of the 787 Dreamliner to date, with 74 airplanes on order -- 73 787-8s and one 787-9.

"This order is the culmination of many months of intensive negotiations between Boeing and ILFC. We are experiencing strong leasing demand from airlines all over the world for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner," said Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, ILFC chairman and chief executive officer. "As the largest wide-body owner and lessor, we want to be responsive to our airline customers in providing the most economical, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly new-generation aircraft for our global airline clientele."

"Boeing is extremely proud of its successful partnership with ILFC over the past 30 years," said Scott Carson, president and chief executive officer, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "ILFC has chosen Boeing to provide to its customers around the world the very best capability and value in commercial airplanes. This order underscores the record-setting market acceptance of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner within the financial community and among airlines around the globe."

ILFC is an international market leader in the leasing and remarketing of advanced-technology commercial jet aircraft to airlines around the world. ILFC owns a portfolio valued at more than $48 billion, consisting of approximately 900 jet aircraft.

With today's announcement, ILFC has ordered 769 Boeing jets since 1977, including 430 737s, 82 757s, 79 777s, 74 787s, 57 767s, 21 747s, 4 727s, 16 MD-80s, and 6 MD-11s.

The 787 Dreamliner, which will enter service in 2008, provides passengers with a better flying experience and operators with a more efficient commercial jetliner. Using 20 percent less fuel per passenger than similarly sized airplanes, the 787 is designed for the environment with lower emissions and quieter takeoffs and landings. Inside the airplane, passengers will find a new interior environment with cleaner air, larger windows, more stowage space, improved lighting and other passenger-preferred conveniences.

The 787 Dreamliner is the fastest-selling commercial airplane in history -- 45 customers have announced 634 orders since its launch in April 2004. Overall, the 787 Dreamliner order book is valued at nearly $100 billion at current list prices.

The Next-Generation 737 family is the most technologically advanced airplane family in the single-aisle market. The Next-Generation 737's market success is confirmed by air finance investors, who consistently rank it as the most preferred airplane due to its wide market base, superior performance efficiency and lowest operating costs in its class.

More than 100 customers around the world have ordered more than 3,800 Next-Generation 737s. Boeing has unfilled orders in excess of 1,500 airplanes worth more than $100 billion at current list prices. ILFC currently owns more than 200 Next-Generation 737s in its fleet, and has an additional 41 on order with Boeing.

The fuel-efficient 777-300ER is the world's largest long-range twin-engine jetliner and is capable of carrying 365 passengers up to 7,930 nautical miles (14,685 kilometers). To date, ILFC has ordered 28 777-300ERs and has taken delivery of 18.

Fly Asian Express ha ordinato 15 A330-300

è un ordine di almeno 2 mesi fa.

Vero, dei primi di aprile, da LoI è diventato ordine fermo con 5 aerei in più.

Fly Asian Xpress, owner of new Malaysian long-haul budget airline AirAsia X, on Monday revealed an order for 10 new Airbus A330-300 aircraft and plans for up to 15 more as it prepares for takeoff this year.
The firm, a sister to fast-growing budget carrier AirAsia, said the order, worth a total of about USD$2.6 billion at list prices, would be funded via private equity and bank debt.
It would not rely on AirAsia to help finance them, said AirAsia chief Tony Fernandes, major investor in both airlines.
"The vision of the world's first truly low-cost long-haul airline is upon us," he told reporters at a glitzy event to mark the signing of 10 new plane orders and options on another five.
Fernandes said the long-haul service would start flying out of the Malaysian capital this September, primarily to Japan, South Korea, China, India, Australia and the Middle East. It would also fly some European routes, he added.
He also announced AirAsia X would be rebranded as AirAsia Long Haul and said it would build a fleet of 25 planes and fly a total of 7.5-8 million passengers over the next five years.
Fly Asian Xpress plans to cram each A330-300 with almost 390 seats, a third more than the standard set-up of around 290 seats.
Airbus marketing chief John Leahy, who was on hand for Monday's signing, said he was already in talks with Fly Asian Xpress for another 10 A330-300s.
"Tony (Fernandes) was telling us at dinner last night that he was going to exercise those five options and he is talking to us about 10 more A330s," Leahy said, adding that each new plane would have operating costs of just 2.1 US cents per seat km.
AirAsia is a loyal Airbus customer, after ordering 150 A320s for short-haul flights, with another 50 A320s on options.
"The A330s allow us to operate most cost effectively due to the aircraft's excellent operational and fuel efficiency capability," FAX Chief Executive Raja Mohamad Azmi said.
The airline did not give the value of the order but gave the list price as USD$175 million, or a total of about USD$2.6 billion including the five planes on option.
The planes would be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2008 and 2011, it said. Until then, it was forming an interim fleet of leased aircraft.
Fly Asian Xpress is owned by Raja Mohamad Azmi, Fernandes and AirAsia deputy group chief executive Kamarudin Meranun. It currently serves Malaysia's eastern states of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo.

PARIS 2007: Thai firms A330 order
By Graham Dunn

Thai Airways International has placed an order for eight Airbus A330-300s for delivery from next year, firming up plans which it disclosed earlier this year.

In February the Star Alliance carrier agreed to order eight more A330-300s at discounted prices in part as compensation for delays in the delivery of six Airbus A380s on order.

The airline said it would use the aircraft to replace six Airbus A300s and a pair of Boeing 747s.

During the Paris air show Airbus announced the firm order from Thai for the eight aircraft and deliveries are due to begin in 2008.

Thai already operates a dozen A330s powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4000s. No engine selection for the new aircraft has been disclosed.

In a related development, Thailand’s cabinet yesterday directed the national carrier to lease the eight aircraft rather than purchase them outright.

The carrier is expected as a result to seek out sale and lease-back agreements on the newly ordered twinjets.

Thai Airways president Apinan Sumanaseni says: “Thai is pleased to announce it has ordered eight more A330-300s, which will replace older aircraft in our fleet, as utilising this Airbus type has always proved profitable and efficient for the company.

"This order is in addition to our withstanding order of six A380-800 aircraft.

“The A330-300 was deemed most suitable towards operating the company’s regional routes in Asia, especially due to our continued increase in flight frequency and expanded route network.”

Last month the carrier said it was drawing up a new 10-year business plan that should include proposals for the replacement of dozens of older aircraft in its fleet. The plan will be presented to its board for consideration in August.
