a sto punto conviene un bel 319, magari NEO...ed infatti basta confrontare i backlog....e la risposta vien da se

backlog A318 = 0
backlog A319 = 95
backlog A319neo = 45
ordini 2013 = -4

backlog 737-600 = 0
backlog 737-700 = 181
backlog 737-7 MAX = 30
ordini 2013 = +30

backlog CS100 = 63
backlog CS300 = 114
ordini 2013 = +29

attuali prezzi di listino (milioni di US$):
A318 = 70,1
A319 = 83,6
A319neo = 92,0
B737-600 = n/a
B737-700 = 76,0
B737-7 MAX = 85,1
CS100 = 62,0
CS300 = 71,0

Lion Air could place order with Bombardier for as many as 100 CS300s

30SEP2013

Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) could see its CS300 programme get a shot in the arm after Rusdi Kirana, the president of Indonesian Low Cost Carrier, Lion Airlines (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta), announced that a deal, potentially numbering 100 of the type, could be finalized come the Farnborough Air Show in July 2014. Kirana hinted, however, that the number bought would be dependent on the price offered by the Canadians. The Montreal Gazette quoted Mr Kirana as saying the CS300's specification were "surprising" and that he never "expected the aircraft to be beyond his expectation." Should the deal be finalized, Lion Air would become the CS300's launch customer in 2016, allowing the airline to fly regional and international routes. In order to meet the tough deadline, Mr Kirana said the deal would require the participation of Export Development Canada, which financed a portion of Lion Air's recent purchase of 60 ATR72-600s from Avions de Transport Régional (Toulouse Blagnac). Bombardier spokesperson Marc Duchesne confirmed discussions with Lion Air but added "we're not ready to divulge details until we sign a contract." As of June 2013, the CS300 has received 114 firm orders.

Iraqi Airways (IA, Baghdad) is set to acquire five CS300s from Bombardier (BBA, Montréal Trudeau), after the Iraqi Ministry of Transport greenlighted the deal. According to Iraqi news agency Aswat Al-Iraq, the five jets, valued at USD200million, will replace five of ten CRJ-900s that currently remain on order from the Canadian manufacturer.

Fast-growing Indonesian airline Lion Group, parent of Lion Air, hopes to complete a deal for at least 50 Bombardier Inc. CSeries jetliners by the first quarter next year, Lion Group President Director Rusdi Kirana said in an interview.
The closely held Lion Group has more than $50 billion worth of aircraft on order to serve a rapidly expanding market for flights across the Indonesian archipelago and throughout Southeast Asia. It recently took delivery of its 100th Boeing Next-Generation 737.

Arik Air is considering an order for Bombardier CSeries jets to drive its narrowbody fleet expansion.
“We are looking at it seriously: so seriously, in fact, that we will be having further conversations with them [Bombardier] on potentially taking 13 to 15 units ,” says chief executive Michael Arumemi-Ikhide, who specifies the CS300 as the model in which Arik is interested.
He says the aircraft "seems to rival very strongly" the CRJ900, CRJ1000 and the Boeing 737-700, the latter of which accounts for the bulk of the Nigerian carrier’s narrowbody fleet. "Our analysis is that it [the CS300] will offer us a much lower cost per trip and cost per seat," adds Arumemi-Ikhide.
"One option is potentially to take the CS300 product and use that to phase out our CRJ products, as well as [for] potential replacement for the Boeing 737-700, but all that is in play," he adds.

DBRS downgrades Bombardier on cash burn in aerospace division

The rating agency says the downgrade reflects the heavy use of cash by Bombardier's aerospace division to develop the CSeries.

BY THE CANADIAN PRESS ON NOVEMBER 11, 2013 9:25AM

MONTREAL – DBRS has downgraded Bombardier’s issuer rating one notch to BB (low) with a stable trend after the transportation giant reported weaker third-quarter results.

The rating service said the actions mainly reflect concerns that the heavy use of cash by Bombardier’s aerospace division to develop aircraft like the CSeries will continue longer than originally expected.

DBRS had placed the Montreal-based company’s ratings under review in August due to the large use of free cash flow associated with the CSeries, along with high debt and weaker earnings.

“The company’s recent quarterly announcement highlighted soft aerospace market conditions at Bombardier Aerospace, as well as new contract execution issues at the Bombardier Transportation division,” DBRS said in a news release.

The CSeries had its maiden flight Sept. 16, but DBRS said high ongoing capital expenditure requirements and nearly nine months of flight testing delays have elevated the program’s costs, which the company says are US$3.4 billion.

Consequently it used nearly $2 billion free cash year-to-date compared with $1.3 billion in fiscal 2012. The Company issued US$2 billion in debt in January 2013 to cover the funding shortfall.

DBRS said any extension in the “highly aggressive” 12-month flight test program could be costly in terms of missed revenue opportunities from customers.

Bombardier has 177 firm orders for the CSeries and expects to have 300 orders by the time the first aircraft is delivered in about a year. However, it hasn’t received any significant orders since the Ilyushin Finance Co. placed a firm order of 32 CS300s in June. Indonesia’s Lion Air Group says it negotiating the purchase of about 50 aircraft.

“In the near mid-term, the high capital expenditures, volatile aerospace market, delayed CSeries deliveries and general profitability issues have further postponed the anticipated recovery in Bombardier’s financial profile until sometime beginning in 2015,” the rating agency said.

Bombardier has about $4 billion in liquidity, which DBRS said will likely cover negative free cash flow over the next year. But DBRS said it “would not be unexpected for Bombardier to address its capital needs or to improve liquidity via further debt issuances, especially during the seasonally demanding quarters.”

Bombardier said its net profit decreased 14.5% to US$147 million in the quarter on a 3.6% decrease in revenues to US$4.06 billion.

Aerospace revenues for the period ended Sept. 30 decreased 12% to US$2 billion, while railway revenues were up 6% to US$2.06 billion.

Iraqi Airways Signs Firm Purchase Agreement with Options for up to 16 Bombardier CS300 Aircraft

Bombardier Aerospace today announced that Iraqi Airways, the national carrier of Iraq, has signed a firm purchase agreement to acquire five CS300 mainline jetliners. The agreement, which also includes options on 11 CS300 aircraft, follows a letter of intent (LOI) to purchase the aircraft that was announced by Bombardier on November 19 during the Dubai Airshow.
As previously announced, based on the list price for the CS300 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $387 million US and could increase to $1.26 billion US if the 11 options are converted to firm orders.
“Following the successful utilization of our six CRJ900 NextGen aircraft over the past few years, the acquisition of the CS300 aircraft will complement our network operations and allow us to expand into new markets,” said Captain Saad Al-Khafaji, Chief Executive Officer and Director General, Iraqi Airways. “The CS300 aircraft’s range, fuel efficiency and comfortable, widebody-like cabin will permit us to respond to growing passenger demand and reach destinations across the Middle East, Northern Africa and Europe.”
“The CS300 aircraft is ideally suited to Iraqi Airways’ expanding operations, providing the right mix of performance, operational flexibility and passenger comfort to support the airline’s ongoing success in its increasingly competitive markets,” said Mike Arcamone, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “We are delighted to be participating in Iraq’s reconstruction by delivering the best aircraft to support Iraqi Airways’ growth and development.”

Bombardier Laying Off 1,700 Aerospace Workers, Mostly in Montreal Area

The Canadian Press
Posted: 01.21.14

MONTREAL - Bombardier is permanently laying off 1,700 employees in its
aerospace division, mostly in Montreal, as it steps up efforts to cut costs
amid delays with two new aircraft and a tough market for both commercial
and business planes.

The company disclosed the decision to its workforce in an internal memo
that says affected employees will be notified in the coming weeks.

Human resources vice-president Sylive Bourdon said despite encouraging
economic signs, challenges facing the aerospace industry require prudence
by management to ensure Bombardier's long-term success.

"Consequently, stricter controls over spending must be implemented to
ensure we consistently meet our budget throughout 2014," she wrote.

The measures are on top of cost-saving efforts in place since 2012.

Bourdon said the latest cuts will help offset billions of dollars spent to
develop the CSeries, Learjet 85, Global 7000 and 8000, along with plant
improvements.

Dave Chartrand of the Machinists union said the positions being cut over
the next few months include 300 contractors, hundreds of engineers,
temporary employees and others hired to work on special projects.

"There are guys that will be recalled but for now, between the programs
that have been slowed down and the CSeries, there is a period where there
will be a little less work," Chartrand said in an interview.

The announcement Tuesday follows several recent setbacks for Bombardier,
which is the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer after Boeing and
Airbus.

It announced last week that its new CSeries commercial jet won't be ready
for service until the second half of 2015, several months later than its
already-delayed previous goal. The first flight and delivery of the Learjet
85 has also been delayed.

On Monday, Bombardier said it received 19 per cent fewer new orders for
commercial and business aircraft last year than in 2012.

Bombardier spokeswoman Haley Dunne said Tuesday's decision is the result of
a variety of factors and is not specifically tied to the CSeries delay.

"It's across the business," she said in an interview.

The layoffs represent less than five per cent of the more than 35,000
global workforce at Bombardier Aerospace, one of the company's two main
divisions. Bombardier is also the world's largest producer of rail
equipment for transit systems.

About 1,100 of 22,200 Bombardier Aerospace employees in Canada are affected
by the pending layoffs, about 80 per cent of them in Montreal.

In the United States, about 600 of 5,700 positions are affected. These
include 200 contractors whose positions ended in December and 350 positions
at the Learjet plant in Wichita, Kan. Some of the 300 employees who were
temporarily laid off for two weeks could now face permanent layoffs.

The positions being cut involve contractual, permanent, unionized and
management positions in assembly, engineering, sales, service, after-sales
and other support functions.

Bombardier said it won't detail what jobs and locations will be affected
until employees are notified. None of the cuts affects employees in Mexico
or Northern Ireland.

Bourdon said some of the employees may have a chance to fill several
hundred vacant positions and vowed to work with its unions to reduce the
impact on staff.

"We are fully aware of the implications this downsizing will have on
affected workers, their families and colleagues. We are committed to ensure
that all employees will be treated with fairness and respect."

Bombardier has a history of cutting jobs during difficult market periods
and then hiring back workers when demand improves. It will also be hiring
hundreds of new workers to assemble the CSeries at its facility being built
in Mirabel, north of Montreal.

David Tyerman of Canaccord Genuity said the efforts could save between $85
million and $170 million a year in wages and help to mitigate the liquidity
strain the company faces as it prepares to build inventories next year.

"It makes a lot of sense what they're doing because they're protecting the
profitability of the company and the ability of the company to execute on
its game plan of launching these new products," he said in an interview.

The analyst said the layoffs also signal that Bombardier doesn't expect a
market recovery any time soon.

"I think this says that it's going to go on for awhile."

Walter Spracklin of RBC Capital Markets said most of the layoffs in
Montreal will be coming from the CSeries program while U.S. layoffs will be
focused on the Learjet program.

"The CSeries program appears to be structurally complete and there is
little reason to have mechanical engineers on payroll when the delay is
centred on software integration issues. On the Learjet division, with still
no real visibility on the upturn in the light cabin business jet segment,
Bombardier can scale back its sales force appropriately," he wrote in a
report, adding there was likely excess employees from the completed
conversion to the Learjet 70/75.

He said the job cuts are symptomatic of Bombardier's debt and heavy CSeries
investments through at least 2016.

Qui a Montreal la notizia ha fatto davvero scalpore, una perdita di piu' di 800 posti di lavoro in un periodo difficile come questo lascia il segno.

[h=1]CSeries performance meeting expectations: Lufthansa[/h][h=2][/h]By: EDWARD RUSSELL
NEW YORK

Bombardier’s CSeries has met performance expectations during its first six months of flight tests, says Lufthansa Group chief executive Christoph Franz.“So far, we do not see any major shortfalls from the promised performance data,” he says during a media event in New York on 30 January.Lufthansa-subsidiary Swiss has an order for 30 CS100s, which will be configured with 125 seats.Flight tests on the CS100 began on 16 September 2013 and Bombardier has said that the results were meeting expectations.Despite the positive results, entry-into-service for the CS100 was delayed 15 months to the second half of 2015 earlier in January.“We are very pleased that no major design changes have been identified,” said Mike Arcamone, president of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, at the time. The delay is an “issue” for Swiss but the airline is still “very happy and confident” with the CSeries, says Franz.“We pray for early delivery,” he adds.

Lufthansa and Odyssey shrug off CSeries delays

By François Shalom, THE GAZETTE March 26, 2014

MONTREAL — It’s time for Bombardier Inc. to push the CSeries flight-test program to full throttle, Lufthansa Group executive Nico Buchholz said in an interview.

But he and Adam Scott, founder of fledgling London-based Odyssey Airlines, sloughed off the latest CSeries program delay announced in January, a much longer one than expected at up to 15 months, or by the end of 2015.

Buchholz and Scott are still fans of the airliner in development, they stressed. As executive vice president of fleet management for Lufthansa, which includes SWISS, formerly Swissair, Buchholz was the first CSeries customer in 2008, thereby launching the ambitious aircraft program that year.

Lufthansa has a firm order for 30 CSeries CS100 and an option for 30 more; Odyssey signed a firm deal for 10 airplanes.

Buchholz said he was not happy about the latest delay. “It’s really unfortunate that they are late, but it doesn’t change our perception of the quality of the aircraft.”

“Now they need to get the flight test done. The key issue now is how long does that test program take.”

“They need to finish their (CS100 110-seat version) program now in order to focus on the CS300 (130-seat iteration).”

“The engineering is basically done. So the question now is between Bombardier and the Transport Canada guys.”

The certification process overseen by regulator Transport Canada is stringent, lengthy and technically complex, involving thousands of parts and systems, many of them new to Bombardier, some of them brand new to any aircraft — like the Pratt & Whitney engine.

The flight test program is scheduled for about 2,400 hours, but Desjardins Securities analyst Benoit Poirier on Monday estimated that the three flight test vehicles in the air so far — there will be five eventually — have racked up only about 159 flight hours.

“We saw (the delay) coming,” Buchholz said. “It doesn’t change the decision fundamentally for us. The aircraft itself has not changed. And when we buy an aircraft, it’s for a long time — 20 years or more.”

Scott, whose plan for Odyssey Airlines is to start flying the CSeries non-stop from London City Airport to unspecified cities on North America’s east coast, said “I was in Montreal early this month and we were debriefed by Bombardier” on the flight test program.

“We’ll be with them again tomorrow in London. We’re comfortable with where the program is and where it’s heading. We’re confident with what Bombardier is doing with the project — and that they will meet and hopefully exceed their latest (2015) expectations.”

“From our perspective, the Bombardier approach, which is fundamentally to have a flawless EIS (entry into service with airlines), is one we’re quite happy with.”

“To us, it’s more important to have a successful EIS than a rush to it. We’re all realistic and understand the complexities and what Bombardier is trying to achieve. and what the CSeries represents.”

Bombardier says the aircraft will provide airlines with a 15-per-cent overall reduction in operating costs compared to similarly sized aircraft.

Some analysts have said Bombardier may have overestimated the delay in order to beat it handily, which would give the program good publicity.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they come in before their target,” Scott said. “I’m an optimist.”

Both executives declined to say what kind of discounts they may get in compensation from Bombardier for the late deliveries.
