A Eurolot Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-500, flight K2-12 from Wroclav to Gdansk (Poland) with 20 passengers and 3 crew, took off from Wroclaw's taxiway B parallel but substantially shorter than runway 29 due work in progress on the taxiway. The aircraft got airborne and continued to Gdansk for a safe landing.
The crew had erroneously turned right onto the taxiway in fog, visibility around 400 meters/1300 feet, taking the first right turn instead of the second which would have been runway 29.
As an immediate reaction both pilots were suspended, taxiing to the runway in low visibility (visibility less than 400 meters) now requires to be done with the assistance of a follow me vehicle.
Poland's Air Accident Investigation Commission opened an investigation.
