Chocs away! Police bring cheer to passengers stuck on jet at Prestwick Airport

POLICE turned up with chocolate and bottled water to calm "fraught" passengers who were stuck on board a Ryanair plane for almost six hours.

Strathclyde Police officers brought the gifts for 168 passengers on the no-frills airline ho had grown increasingly impatient about the delay to their flight from Prestwick Airport to Girona in Spain.

The flight was supposed to take off at 2pm yesterday, but because of delays caused by a French air traffic controllers strike, it did not leave Prestwick until just before 8pm.

One passenger said parents of young children aboard the flight became increasingly agitated when they were not allowed to return to the airport to buy food and drink. Passengers cheered when police boarded the jet with sweets and drinks for everyone.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: "Officers decided to monitor the situation and a decision was taken to purchase refreshments and hand them out to all the passengers on board.

"Some of the passengers were slightly fraught after a delay in their flight departing."

One passenger, Sarah Toom, said: "It was quite hectic in the aircraft earlier. A lot of parents with young kids were getting quite upset and raising their voices because we weren't allowed off the aircraft to buy food and drink."

She said that officers from Strathclyde Police came on to the plane and announced they were looking at ways to get passengers some water and food.

She said: "Five minutes later they showed up with bottles of water for everyone, which was met by a loud cheer."

A spokesman for Ryanair – which cuts costs by charging for drinks and refreshments on its planes – said:

"While the aircraft was on the ground, passengers on board were allowed to use mobile phones and toilet facilities, and, in accordance with legal restrictions, the bars on board remained closed."

6 ore a bordo é comunque IMPENSABILE!!!!

Avevano un o SLOT? Si imbarca H-30 e via....
E la stessa cosa che hanno fatto i poliziotti, potrebbe averla fatta il comandante, caposcalo o chi per loro....
 
E comunque, se é vero che ho sentito regole per l'alcool, non ho mai sentito che il bar dell'acqua e del cibo deve essere chiuso a terra e non possa essere aperto...

Ma infatti, mi pare un'idiozia.

Come puoi pensare di tenere per 6 ore dei bambini senz'acqua ?
 
Non ci sono scuse.....non hanno nessun rispetto per i passeggeri.....pur di risparmiare pochi soldi, vanno a fare queste vere e proprie schifezze.....
Non penso che, chi ha vissuto tale esperienza, continui a volare con loro......

ripeto che i pax swiss non avevano pagato 1 Euro..non c'entra niente il prezzo. E poi basta con queste solite litanie..su un volo le persone che avranno pagato i biglietto 2-5-10€ saranno pochissime. Se lo compri nei 15 gg antecedenti il volo lo paghi tariffe basse ma cmq non troppo. E alle volte capita che lo paghi anche più di quanto paghi con una major.
E sinceramente tutte le volte che ho volato Ryanair mi sono trovato bene. Evidentemente in europa ci sono 60 milioni di idioti che continuano a volare con loro.
 
Non serve. Anni fa (2005) sono rimasto bloccato tre ore dentro un volo charter per Creta. Il comandante disse che, avendo accumulato ritardo nei voli precedenti, avevano perso lo slot all'arrivo ed essendo l'aeroporto piccolo, stavano aspettando uno slot a destinazione. Disse che non sapeva quando avrebbe avuto la notizia, poteva essere dopo un minuto o dopo un'ora, ed era questa la ragione per cui non ci facevano scendere. Nel frattempo però disse che potevamo usare i cellulari e le toilette. Poichè non poteva aprire i famosi sigilli, disse che si sarebbe organizzato diversamente. Dopo circa mezz'ora ho visto arrivare una macchina della compagnia aerea, che ha portato alcuni fardelli di acqua minerale e un sacchetto di caramelle, che ci hanno distribuito.

alla fine bastava ingegnarsi un po' e la situazione poteva essere agevolmente risolta.
