Ecco il comunicato Easyjet che annuncia le nuove misure di sicurezza. Oggi saranno aboliti i bagagli a mano.
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR ALL PASSENGERS - THURSDAY 10 AUGUST - update 07.50
Passengers are being advised to expect major disruption at all UK airports this morning. This follows an overnight change to the UK's aviation security level.
PLEASE NOTE - with immediate effect NO hand-baggage will be allowed on aircraft. Only certain essential items will be allowed into the cabin - provided they are contained in transparent plastic bags, which will be issued at airports. All other items are required to be packed into hold baggage and checked-in on arrival at the airport.
Unfortunately the airline expects significant delays throughout the day and there are likely to be cancellations as a result of these extraordinary circumstances. Passengers booked on cancelled flights will be entitled to a refund or may transfer their flight to a later date free of charge.
Passengers should allow extra time for their journeys and are being asked for patience as airlines and airports implement the new arrangements.
Passengers and cabin baggage
The following arrangements apply to all passengers starting their journey at a UK airport and to those transferring between flights at a UK airport.
With immediate effect all cabin baggage must be processed as hold baggage and carried in the hold of passenger aircraft departing UK airports
Passengers may take through the airport security search point, in a single (ideally transparent) plastic carrier bag, only the following items.
Nothing may be carried in pockets:
pocket size wallets and pocket size purses plus contents (for example money, credit cards, identity cards etc (not handbags));
travel documents essential for the journey (for example passports and travel tickets);
prescription medicines and medical items sufficient and essential for the flight (eg, diabetic kit), except in liquid form unless verified as authentic.
spectacles and sunglasses, without cases.
contact lens holders, without bottles of solution.
for those travelling with an infant: baby food, milk (the contents of each bottle must be tasted by the accompanying passenger) and sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight (nappies, wipes, creams and nappy disposal bags).
female sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, if unboxed (eg tampons, pads, towels and wipes).
tissues (unboxed) and/or handkerchiefs
keys (but no electrical key fobs)
All passengers must be hand searched, and their footwear and all the items they are carrying must be x-ray screened. Any activation of the archway metal detector must be fully resolved. Formal NSM protocols are suspended with immediate effect to free up staff resources for passenger searching duties.
However, any items rejected by the x-ray screener must be hand searched and subject to trace detection where available.

Sky News sta dicendo che tutto ruota attorno ai fluidi, poiché gli esplosivi dovevano essere appunto liquidi.
Non è quindi consentito portare a bordo (in particolar modo) bevande di nessun tipo, cosmetici, gel per capelli.

TERRORISMO: STOP A VOLI LUFTHANSA E DA BRUXELLES PER GB
La compagnia di bandiera tedesca 'Lufthansa' ha cancellato tutti i voli per il Regno Unito, in seguito all'innalzamento al massimo grado in Gran Bretagna dell'allerta anti-terrorismo, dopo la scoperta di un complotto per compiere attentati su aerei. Lo hanno annunciato fonti della stessa societa', precisando che il provvedimento riguardera' i voli previsti fino alle 14; in tutto quelli in programma per oggi verso il Regno Unito sono 56. Analoga misura e' stata adottata a Bruxelles, dove sono stati annullati tutti i voli in partenza per Londra dall'aeroporto internazionale della capitale belga: lo ha reso noto un portavoce dello scalo.

Ryanair on instruction from the UK Government, wish to advise passengers that no items of hand baggage can be carried on board any aircraft departing any UK Airport. This instruction applies to all airlines operating from UK airports.
Passengers are not permitted to carry the following onboard:
Handbaggage, including ladies handbags, electrial or battery powered items including laptops, mobile phones, ipods, electrial key fobs.
The only items permitted to be carried onboard are the following items:
Travel Documents (passport), Keys (but no electrical key fobs), baby food, milk, sanitary items and prescribed medicines (except in liquid form unless verified as authentic) essential for the duration of the flight.
Ryanair are fully complying with this Government instruction but do expect delays and disruptions to occur. We recommend that all passengers allow extra time to get to the airport and to clear security.

Tra tre settimane devo volare su Gatwick speriamo che non capiti nulla in modo da far rientrare i livelli d'allerta. Mio padre domani parte per gli USA e passa via FRA spero quindi che riesca a evitare i casini.

LONDRA - Difficolta' per chi deve raggiungere il Regno Unito, dopo gli attentati sventati da Scotland Yard. Tutti i voli per Heathrow sono stati annullati. Lo stop, che potrebbe durare fino alle 16, riguarda non solo le compagnie italiane, ma tutte le compagnie aeree. Al momento pochi voli diretti allo scalo londinese vengono dirottati sugli aeroporti di Gatwick e Manchester. Forti le restrizioni per gli effetti personali. Non e' ammesso alcun bagaglio a mano. Tutto deve essere stivato all'interno del bagaglio che viene imbarcato. Si possono portare con se' solo i documenti di identita' e il biglietto, insieme agli oggetti indispensabili come medicine e occhiali, ma tutto contenuto in borse di plastica trasparente. Non si puo' tenere nulla in tasca. Poche eccezioni. Tra queste assorbenti, biberon e accessori per i bambini: tutto pero' deve passare ai raggi X. 3. The first wave departures from other UK Airports are arriving on time but will suffer subsequent delays in turnaround.
4. Flight departures from other UK Airports are experiencing delays withfirst wave departures from Liverpool, Luton, Glasgow Prestwick and East Midlands suffering 1 hr delays.
5. Flights between non UK airports remain largely unaffected.
6. We are hopeful that as a results of these cancellations that our afternoon departures will depart on time.
7. However, given the backlog of passengers at UK airports further delays and cancellation are inevitable.
