PER CHI FOSSE INTERESSATO, O IN ZONA....
Calling all airline memorabilia collectors
If you’re a collector of airline memorabilia or have friends and family who collect it, check out the Chicagoland Airline Collectibles Fall Shows on October 6 and November 17 in two United hub cities.
Saturday, October 6 – Chicago Airline Collectibles Fall Show
The show hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 1000 Busse Road (route 83) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Tickets are $5 and the event is free for children under 12. The hotel is offering a shuttle to and from ORD as well as special room rates for those attending the show from out of town. Call the hotel for the special show room rate at 847-437-6010. For more information, please contact the organizer, Steve Mazanek, at
s.mazanek@comcast.net or 773-909-5623.
The United Airlines Archives department at OPC will have six tables at the October 6 show. The archive collection policy is to retain no more than three of any item from the United and Continental family of airlines, so the overstocks will be sold at the show as well as items that do not fall within the collection policy such as material from other airlines.
The archives will be selling a nice selection of pictures of both the United and Continental fleet of planes. All proceeds from this show will benefit the archive program, allowing the group to purchase unique artifacts as well as archival supplies that help with the preservation of the collections.
Saturday, November 18 – Houston Airline Collectibles Show & Sale
Buy, sell and trade airline memorabilia at this show being hosted by the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, 8325 Travelair Street, Houston from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $7 and complimentary parking is available. If you’re visiting from out of town, a group rate of $89 is available for November 16 and 17 only at the DoubleTree Hotel at 8181 Airport Blvd., Houston. Call 713-645-3000 by November 2 and mention hotel group code HAC. For additional information contact Duane Young at
