Seattle, USA – Boeing e Singapore Airlines hanno siglato una Letter of Intent (LOI) per l’acquisto da parte del vettore di 20 777-9X e 19 787-10 (con 6 opzioni per ciascun modello). SIA ha già all’attivo 30 ordini per la versione più grande del 787, del quale sarà cliente di lancio nel 2018: i primi Dreamliner di questo ordine verrano consegnati nell’anno fiscale 2020-2021, mentre per i 777-9X l’ingresso in flotta è previsto nel 2021-2022. Il valore nominale dell’ordine sarà di $13,8 miliardi e SIA avrà la facoltà di sostituire i 787 serie 10 con altre versioni dell’aereo.
Con questo ordine Singapore Airlines porta il totale degli ordini inevasi a 131 macchine (su una flotta attuale di 111): la compagnia opera già 10 Airbus A350-900 e ne attende altri 57, mentre nel biennio 2018-2019 riceverà altri 5 A380.
