Take a look at our first Boeing 737-9 MAX, aircraft 7501, freshly painted and nearly ready for delivery later this month. Tech Ops will do post-delivery modifications, and then the plane will undergo various pre-revenue service checks, training sessions and proving runs.
We are the North American launch customer for this variant, and chose the MAX 9 for its superior fuel efficiency, which can increase range and payload while maintaining significant commonality with the Boeing 737NG (Next Generation). The MAX family reduces fuel use and CO2 emissions significantly compared with the older generation aircraft.
As previously announced, our first 737-9 MAX will enter the schedule in early June, starting with routes out of IAH to destinations including ANC (Anchorage, Alaska), MCO (Orlando), FLL (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) and SAN (San Diego). We have 161 737 MAXs on order. We expect to take delivery of 10 737 MAX 9s this year, and in 2020 we plan to bring the 737 MAX 10 variant into the United fleet.

New Polaris Lounge opened @SFO!

Customers traveling in United Polaris international first or business class will be able to relax, dine or freshen up in the new United Polaris Lounge at San Francisco (SFO). The two-story, 28,120-square-foot lounge located in the International Terminal was carefully and thoughtfully designed with full-service amenities that are uniquely United and distinctly California.
The spacious lounge offers customers three distinct experiences: an area to relax, an area to recharge and an area to engage. A custom scent, curated music playlist and subtle mood lighting also come together to create a memorable sensory experience.
Food and drink selections include nods to both the local area and the popular destinations we serve from San Francisco. Visitors can grab something from the buffet before boarding or settle in for a full meal in the private dining space, which sits up to 40 people. Tucked away from the rest of the lounge, daybeds outfitted with a Saks Fifth Avenue blankets and pillows offer a place to rest. Visitors also have the option to freshen up in shower suites and a valet is available to steam clothes upon request.

Polaris Lounge e' un prodotto collegato in esclusiva al viaggio in Polaris First e Polaris Business: *A Gold mantengono il beneficio d'accesso alle United Club, come e' sempre stato.
La decisione di UA di dedicare una top-lounge ai soli pax Polaris (al momento gia' aperte quelle di ORD e SFO, EWR in arrivo a Giugno e IAH in Agosto, poi LAX, IAD, LHR, HKG e NRT) va ad elevare il prodotto ground experience proprio perche' esclude tutti gli altri potenziali beneficiari, inclusi inviti, che come detto mantengono comunque l'accesso alle UA Club.

Grazie - e la logica ci sta tutta (specialmente di 'sti tempi con compagnie tipo Aegean ecc. che ti regalano lo status con 4 voli più 2 prove d'acquisto Dixan e le salette che, ovviamente, diventano bolgie... Con Lufty si deve ancora sudare ma ne vale la pena, a parte la cappellata di escludere i SEN dalle tariffe senza bagaglio :)).

Il problema vero è la massa enorme di "tesserati gold" che esiste negli USA, e il conseguente impoverimento del servizio offerto nelle lounge in America; qualsiasi scalcinata lounge *A o ST o OW europea è anni luce avanti ad una qualsiasi americana

Quoto AlicorporateUK; non credo sia cosi' ma e' vero pure che poco frequento le lounge EU che per MarlboroLi sono anni luce avanti.
Quanto al numero di Gold USA, si tenga conto che gli stessi non hanno accesso alle lounges quando volano domestico; quindi si, sono tanti, ma alla fine della fiera non e' che alle BA lounges al LHR T5 , o alla Senator LH a FRA mi sia trovato proprio solo soletto o in compagnia di pochi intimi!
 
beh, tanto per dirne una non mi è mai capitato in Europa di entrare in una lounge dove, per bere o mangiare qualcosa, la debba pagare.

Ammenoché United non inizi a volare a Varadero o a Punta Cana oramai Sokol non lo prendi più. L'uomo s'è imborghesito!

Sam lo stimo molto, ma toglimi una curiosità; quando fa questi trip report i viaggi in aereo li paga o glie lo paga la compagnia aerea per testare il prodotto?
