UA will begin codesharing with Ethiopian Airlines (ET), the biggest airline in Africa with the youngest fleet, on Aug. 30.
ET flies to 82 destinations on five continents and is also an operator of the Boeing 787. It serves IAD daily with the 787 or 777 and provides connections through its hub in ADD (Addis Ababa) to 49 cities across Africa.
The new codeshare agreement covers the ADD–IAD route, as well as points in Africa and the U.S. With this codeshare agreement, travelers between the U.S. and Africa will be able to enjoy unmatched and seamless connectivity options thanks to UA strong network in the U.S. and ET’s unparalleled coverage of East, Central, Southern and Western African destinations.
