Penso che Denver venga considerato (a ragione) un hub domestico. Il briefing verteva sui servizi transatlantici e trans pacifici.

Effettivamente e' piu' domestico: a parte alcuni servizi per il Messico, infatti, l'unico volo transoceanico e' il DEN-TYO, che con il 787-8 ti porta in poco piu' di 12 ore in Giappone!

Primo giorno era in realta' il 7APR, ma in ogni caso son cose che sappiamo bene tutti che possono succedere a chiunque e con qualunque aereo...
Dispiace per il disagio di chi ne e' stato coinvolto, il volo e' partito stamani alle 09,15 come extra-section UA2114.
 
United ha presentato il nuovo menu in Y sui voli di lungo:

United to bring in new economy menu

United Airlines is introducing a new inflight menu for economy passengers featuring larger portions and complimentary beer and wine.
The carrier will launch the new menu on June 1 on its transatlantic flights; "most" transpacific flights; and on services between the US and Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
There will also be the facility to buy "premium snacks" through the "Choice Menu Snack Shop", currently only available on United's North and Central America flights scheduled for more than two hours, flights to and from northern South America and the service between Honolulu and Guam.

Economy passengers will receive a three-course meal starting with a drink and "snack of cheese and crackers, baked whole-grain bruschetta chips or Kiri cheese spread and crackers", followed by a main course served with salads and artisan bread.

The main course meals will include:

  • Turkey meatloaf in spicy barbecue sauce, served with sweet potato mash, mixed vegetables, an artisan ciabatta roll and amaranth mango salad
  • Tuscan ravioli with roasted red pepper sauce, served with a petit artisan ciabatta roll and mixed-grain salad
  • Udon noodles with stir-fried vegetables and ginger soya sauce, served with a petit multi-grain baguette roll and apple wheatberry salad.

This will be followed by a dessert, such as gelato, sorbet, ice cream or mousse.
United will offer alcoholic drinks at no charge alongside the multi-course meal service and a free bottle of water.

Sandra Pineau-Boddison, United's senior vice president of customers, said: "The changes to come on June 1 will deliver an elevated on-board experience on many of our intercontinental flights and will offer travelers the high level of service they expect from a global airline."
Yesterday, it emerged that Priority Pass members will no longer have access to United Club lounges from next month (see news, April 16).

767s to replace 757s on four trans-Atlantic routes
United is making aircraft upgauges on some routes between EWR and locations in Europe beginning this fall to help reduce fuel stops and to meet customer demand and cargo opportunities in these markets.
United was already replacing Boeing 757s with Boeing 767s on flights from EWR to BCN (Barcelona, Spain) and TXL (Berlin) this summer and now they will continue as 767s year-round. The same upgauges from EWR to HAM (Hamburg, Germany) and MAD (Madrid, Spain) will be effective Oct. 25.
The upgauge to 767s will reduce fall and winter fuel stops on westbound flights due to high winds and improve carrier's reliability on these routes.

UNITED Suspends Scandinavia Service Sep 2015 – May 2016

UNITED in the week of 09MAY15′s schedule update has converted Scandinavia service from year-round to summer seasonal, meaning the airline’s Newark – Oslo and Newark – Stockholm service will be cancelled from 05SEP15 to 04MAY16 (US departure).
Previously planned schedule as follow (07JAN16 – 12MAR16).

La feroce battaglia a colpi di fuel dump per contrastare Norwegian sembre abbia fatta la prima vittima.
 
credo i problemi siano piuttosto relativi all'utilizzo dei 757 durante la winter, con i (troppo) frequenti fuel-stop on the way; se colleghi questo al gia' basso impatto revenue allora non e' piu' conveniente avere il volo durante la winter.
D'altronde e' cosi anche per il FCO-EWR ad esempio, sospeso per lo yield troppo basso e incapace di produrre revenue durante la stagione invernale.

Grazie per la spiegazione: a vedere le tariffe dal nord Europa (inverno o estate che sia, ti tirano dietro i biglietti) legavo la questione all'ingresso di Norwegian.
