Originally reported by onemileatatime.com · Controversial Etihad Chief Commercial Officer Arik De Abruptly Departs
De joined Etihad in late 2022 and was promoted a year later, overseeing revenue strategy during its expansion from $3B to nearly $10B in annual revenue. His departure was unannounced; his profile vanished from Etihad’s site shortly after a tip confirmed his exit. Contacts suggest no prior warning existed beyond senior leadership circles.
The move follows internal unease over De’s management style, despite his public charisma. Industry observers note his omission of the CEO in his farewell post is unusual for voluntary departures. Etihad has not commented on succession plans or reasons for the exit, leaving uncertainty as the airline navigates geopolitical and operational pressures.
