U.S.: FAA orders ground stop for all airports because of computer failure
26-Feb-2010 08:12:31 PM (GMT) The FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center on Friday reported the following:

Due to computer failure, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving ALL Airports. Because a traffic management program is delaying some arriving flights, departing flight schedules may be affected.

Passengers planning to fly into or out of the affected airports should contact their airlines in advance of departure to co nfirm flight status.

Editor's Note

Airline disruptions
Those planning to travel by air to or from this destination should check with their airline or travel agent immediately to reconfirm travel arrangements. If your flight has been canceled, request the next available flight. Traffic on roadways leading to airports may be considerably slower than normal. Airports are likely to become very crowded, and lines will be long. Allow a good measure of extra time to get to the airport, check in and go through security.
