TAM just published a fleet plan review for 2012.
They decided to reduce the fleet plan by 4 aircraft which means no fleet growth. They will got 13 new A320 family planes but will return older 13 currently in operation.
The big change will be on the long haul operations.
They decided to replace the A345 in October (probably grouding it for a few months) replacing GRU-MXP operation by the Airbus A330. This will reduce CASM by 20%.
To do it, as they have no spare equipment, TAM decided to reduce operations on the following routes:
GIG-FRA - From Daily to 4x weekly
GIG-LHR - From 6x weekly to 3x weekly
Seasonal changes expected, with some operations being shift, such as GRU-MCO, in favor of others.
They expect to generate earnings of US$ 50 million with the change, per year.[/FONT]
