I dati sono quelli. L'ATH va anche peggio. Credo che difficilmente si vada oltre i 15/20 passeggeri per volo.
I voli a marzo stanno migliorando. Le prossime settimane sono poco indicative perchè c'è Pasqua di mezzo.

- Alicante has 2,2 million inhabitants in the airport catchment area (75km), 4th in Spain, Valencia has 2,5 million.
- Alicante monopolizes the 70% of tourism in the Land of Valencia. The main touristic city in the region is Benidorm, 40km far from Alicante.
- Alicante is the region of Spain with more % of inmigrants, around 22%, it is usually to see towns around Alicante with more than 50% of foreign people. Alicante has about 400,000 legal inmigrants, in Spain only MAD and BCN hold such huge amount of inmigrants. Figures of illegal inmigrants are unknown. There is an important "floating population" due to illegal inmigrants, europeans who buy a house and live there some dates, and tourists. In fact, Alicante holds the main colonies in Spain for the next countries:
All these people usually fly a lot.
- That's why Alicante airport is more important, in fact is considered 1st category airport (like MAD, BCN, PMI, AGP, LPA and TFS) by AENA (spanish authorities). Valencia is considered 2nd category airport.

- Alicante has been saturated some years (2003-2006) and some traffic was diverted to Murcia, a little terminal 2 was finished last year, that's why traffic is growing again and Ryanair established a base. A big terminal 3 is being built (it will be finished in 2010, hope) to let the airport receive 20-25 million passengers, a second runway is being requested.

Alicante is simply a popular turist resort for Brits and Germans just like PMI. The amount of the incoming has always been the main source of trafic even before the starting of the immigration flow...
