Ryanair cancels four destinations from Budapest, adds two new ones
Ireland’s low-cost airline Ryanair is to add two new destinations to its Budapest offers but cancel four others due to weak demand, CEO Michael O’Leary told a press conference on Tuesday.
Ryanair is adding Düsseldorf (Germany) and Denmark’s Billund to its Budapest timetable as of May, but it will fly no more between Budapest and Chania (Crete), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Trapani (Sicily, Italy) and Rhodos (Greece).
At the same time, it will have more flights to/from Barcelona, London and Paris, as demand has increased.
Ryanair will fly to 30 destinations from Budapest after it cancels the aforementioned four.
In the first two weeks Ryanair’s load factor was 60%, which the no-frills airline expects to boost to 70% in March. By this it will be on track to meet the target of 2.4 million passengers in Budapest, O'Leary said.
Ryanair announced late last week that it would cancel 13 return flights to/from Budapest over the next two weeks over "bizarre and stupid" border control practice. (The Border Control Police at Budapest Airport insist that some Ryanair pilots and cabin crew get off the aircraft and clear through immigration on 25 minute turnarounds, despite the fact that these crews live and work in Budapest.
The Hungarian police carries out its duties on the Ferenc Liszt International Airport according to European Union practices, responded György Makula, spokesman for the Hungarian National Police (ORFK) on Saturday.
He added that border control is carried out on the basis of professional protocol applied over many years and under prevailing domestic and international norms.

A quanto pare Wizzair dovrebbe prendere queste rotte.. Ma non è sicuro che siano questi i 4 aeroporti, può anche darsi che opereranno da scali vicini ad essi..
Questa potrebbe essere la situazione:
Creta - oppure aumentano le frequenze da Heraklion
Palma di Maiorca è già sulla rotta quindi potrebbe aumentare le frequenze
Rodi già presente sulla rotta, potrebbe aumentare le frequenze
Trapani - Palermo
