45 years of Finnair’s Milan route!
Finnair’s route to Milan reached the ripe old age of 45 on Monday 2nd June - the first flight from Helsinki to the Italian sun took place in June 1963! The aircraft was a Caravelle III, which was the pride and joy of Finnair because of its quiet jet engine. Few other airlines could compete with its convenience and speed of travel.
2008 is a milestone year for Finnair, which at 85 is one of the oldest airlines in the world. To mark this special year, one of Finnair’s Airbus A319 aircraft will be painted in the colors of Aero Convair, which operated in the 1950s, and the crew will wear uniforms from that era. This retro aircraft will start operating at the end of July, and Milan is one of its destinations.
