A number of Air Malta flights were delayed yesterday, after an aircraft had to be substituted due to a bird strike. The Malta-Reggio-Rome flight, landed safely at the south Italian city’s airport despite suffering a bird strike.
The airline sent an aircraft to Reggio in the afternoon, to transport the passengers scheduled to fly to Rome, while Air Malta engineers were flown to Reggio to inspect the affected plane. A number of flights from Malta, including those to Zurich, Manchester, Rome, Milan and Birmingham, were delayed yesterday afternoon as a result.
