FLYING THE NATION FOR 40 YEARS! WERE YOU ONE OF OUR FIRST PASSENGERS?
2008 is a very special year as we celebrate flying the nation for 40 years and we’re launching a search to find our very first passengers!
Friday 05 April 1968 saw our first commercial flight take to the skies on one of our two Bristol Britannia aircraft bound for Madrid. Flight OM118 took off from our base at London Luton shortly after 09:30 am with 132 passengers onboard – were you one of them?
If so, we’d love to hear from you about your flying experience, whether you were travelling on a family holiday, visiting friends and family or maybe marking an anniversary. Any photos you have from this first flight would also be gratefully received.

Terms and conditions for the celebratory flights:
1.Flights will only be issued to any persons proven to have travelled on Monarch flight OM118, flying from London Luton to Madrid on 05 April 1968
2.The flights are non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative
3.The flights are offered subject to availability and may not be available at peak times
4.The flights are valid for travel before 30 April 2009
5.The flights are return flights with Monarch to any scheduled destination from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton or Manchester airports
6.Airport taxes are included in the prize
7.Flight extras are not included (flight extras include, but are not limited to, pre-allocated seats and the carriage of hold/checked-in baggage)
