Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus said it would buy 24 planes from Boeing rather than 12 under a previous deal, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Boeing was scheduled to deliver the 12 planes by 2012, bought for USD$800 million, under a deal signed in 2005.
"Pegasus Airlines will raise the number of its aircraft to 30 by the end of 2013," chief executive Ali Sabanci said.
Pegasus said its 24 new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft would make it the private airline with the biggest fleet in Turkey.
