Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya and Swiss ambassador Christine Schraner Burgener on Monday signed an open skies agreement for unlimited air services between and beyond the two countries.
The accord between the Thai government and the Swiss Federal Council replaces the previous agreement written in 1984, which limited the number of airline flights for passengers and air cargo between the two countries.
The agreement is intended to promote air services, commerce, tourism and improved relations overall.
At present, there are 15 direct weekly flights each way between Thailand and Switzerland - 14 flights linking Bangkok and Zurich and one between Phuket and Zurich
