BELGRADE (Serbia), August 29 (SeeNews) -
Low-cost airline Wizz Air said on Wednesday it will double its fleet investment at the Belgrade airport by adding one new Airbus A320 and launching four new low-fare routes.
The expansion plan brings the company's investment at its Belgrade base up to $160 million (127 million euro), Wizz Air said in a statement.
The new routes will connect the Serbian capital with Basel, Corfu, Oslo Torp and Rhodes.
Wizz Air will fly from Belgrade to Basel Mulhouse three times a week, starting December 15. The seasonal route to Corfu
will be served once a week from June 20. Flights to Oslo Torp will be available twice a week from May 31 while the weekly service to Rhodes will commence on June 15.
In addition to the new routes, the airline will increase eight frequencies on the existing services from Belgrade to Brussels Charleroi, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, Malmo, Munich West and Stockholm Skavsta.
Wizz Air now offers 13 international low-fare routes from Belgrade which will deliver over 550,000 passengers on an annual basis.
