Non mi interesso più molto alla situazione uragani, tifoni, cicloni etc...
poi però ti becco, casualmente, un aereo del NOAA su FR24 in mezzo al golfo del Messico, e scopro che sta cacciando Milton.
Tutto normale, si però...
ma n'è strano che un uragano origina da dentro il golfo e risale verso est?

Non so più leggere un cyclone track?
Era mai successo prima?

 
Non hai tutti i torti: vado a ricordi di n mila anni fa. I cicloni tropicali dovrebbero generarsi nella fascia atlantica tropicale più bassa, spinti dagli alisei, fare rotta verso nord-ovest per poi deviare verso nord nord-est.
se poi Milton si è sviluppato quando era già in pieno golfo, questo lo ignoro.

pochissimi giorni dopo Helene son nuovamente cazzi gravi problemi per la West Florida e, in questo caso, anche per lo Yucatan; Helene in effetti si formo' sull'Atlantico per poi entrare basso sul golfo del Messico e di li' virare a E/NE sulla florida, qui Milton si forma invece proprio nel golfo e per la causa gia' evidenziata da @robygun
 
Hanno bloccato il lancio di Falcon Heavy con in groppa Europa Clipper per colpa di quel coso, rimessi nell'hangar. Per fortuna la finestra di lancio dura tutto il mese.

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicates that #Milton has strengthened to a Major Category 5 hurricane. The maximum sustained winds are estimated to be 160 mph (250 km/h) with higher gusts. Data from the aircraft also indicate that the minimum pressure has fallen to 925 mb (27.31 inches).

È lo stesso meccanismo che ha portato ai recenti disastri in Emilia ..
Mare caldo che "pompa" energia e vapore acqueo in una massa d'aria fredda e scatena il finimondo..

Si trova al limite fra la zona dove predominano gli alisei e quella delle westerlies. è possibile che la debolezza del vortice polare abbia contribuito all’ abbassamento delle correnti occidentali (è lo stesso fenomeno che ha portato il sotto media termico di fine settembre/inizio ottobre nel Nord Italia)
 
Semi OT e me ne assumo le responsabilità: ma voi, se vi dessero la possibilità di fare un giro assieme ai quei cacciatori di uragani sul quadri turboelica, ci andreste?

  • September 15, 1989 – While entering the eyewall of Hurricane Hugo, a NOAA WP-3D Orion (registration N42RF) encountered multiple severe downdrafts, causing the inboard right engine to overheat. The crew was forced to shut it down as the aircraft reached 220 m (720 ft) above the ocean in the eye. They dumped fuel and followed a United States Air Force WC-130 out of the hurricane.   • February 9, 2007 – While inside of an extratropical cyclone, the same WP-3D Orion involved in the Hurricane Hugo incident suffered a compressor stall on three of its four engines at 240 m (790 ft) above the ocean, forcing the crew to shut them down. They were able to restart the engines and return to St. John's. Sea salt reduced the engine performance, which resulted in a compressor stall and a rain cloud the aircraft passed through caused the engines to be cleaned out, resulting in their restarting.[22][23]

Sono chiaramente equipaggi con i controc…. Personalmente dovrebbero pagarmi molto (ma molto molto) bene
