ORY >> NEW SLOT POOL ALLOCATION 10/09/2007
The French authorities decided to return to the pool some slots reserved at Paris-Orly airport for Public Service Obligations routes, especially the Paris-Metz (ETZ) and Paris-Saint Etienne (EBU). A pool of 2704 slots at Paris-Orly airport was then made available for reallocation.
COHOR, appointed as Paris-Orly airport co-ordinator by the modified French Minister of Transport order of August 27th, 1996 and in accordance with the amended Council Regulation 95/93 of January 18th, 1993 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports named “EU Slot Regulation”, distributed the pool on an annual basis considering the waiting list made of requests filed for the aeronautical Winter 2007/2008 season (W07) and received by August 31st, 2007.
The Council Regulation 95/93 which was amended in July 2004 stipulates that carriers must now clearly require to benefit of the new entrant status for their new requests meeting the EU Regulation requirements and that half of the pool must be allocated between carriers' requests with new entrant status.
The carriers having claimed this new entrant status and entitled to do so are : L'Avion (1 daily flight to Newark), Flybaboo (3 daily flights to Geneva), Air Berlin (6 weekly flights to Nüremberg), Clickair (2 daily flight to Bilbao), easyJet Switzerland (1 daily flight to Pisa , 2 daily flights to Venice, 2 daily flights to Hamburg), Meridiana (2 daily flights to Milan-Linate) Air Mauritanie (2 weekly flights to Nouakchott) and My Way (5 weekly flights to Venice).
The airlines that have benefited from the slot pool allocation are (please click on "Attached Document" for further details) :
As new entrant (1352 slots) [ article 2bii) “EU Slot Regulation” ] :
• Air Berlin (624): 6 weekly flights to Nuremberg (NUE)
• Air Mauritanie (208): 2 weekly flights to Nouakchott (NKC)
• My Way (520): 5 weekly flights to Venice (VCE)
As incumbents (1352 slots) :
• Aigle Azur (832): 8 weekly flights
• Atlas Blue (416): 4 weekly flights
• Camali (104): 1 weekly flight
These slots were allocated on the basis of submissions for the aeronautical Winter 2007/2008 season (W07). However, the carriers which have been allocated these new slots on an annual basis willing to start their year round operations already before the end of the current aeronautical Summer 2007 season (S07) will be allowed to do so.
The reserved number of slots for year-round services will be allocated for the aeronautical Summer 2008 season (S08) provided that the new services will really start for the aeronautical Winter 2007/2008 season (W07) and that the year round operation requests are duly confirmed by carriers by the industry submission deadline for S08.
