Nuove rotte (PRG-NAP daily)
Aggiungo anche questo comunicato per le nuove rotte:
Starting from 30 June, SkyEurope will launch new services from Košice to Manchester and Split (Croatia) non-stop. Existing service will also be increased to London Luton. Poprad wil receive an additional weekly flight to London-Luton. The very succesful Prague-Naples service will increase to daily from the current four flights per week. Bratislava will have increased frequencies to London-Luton with a mid-day service to augment the double-daily service. Bratislava-Dublin is increased to daily service at convenient departure times and summer services to Bourgas, Split and Thessaloniki are also increased. From October other new flights for Košice, Bratislava and Prague will be added and announced shortly.
Expanding SkyEurope’s presence in Slovakia is part of the airline’s turnaround strategy by reinforcing key markets in a low-cost environment, while also allowing for greater operational effiencies and network development opportunities. This expansion is being accomplished without adding a single new destination, but rather through re-inforcing existing markets.
“We are happy to announce the expansion in Košice today. This is good news for the region and Slovakia, said Jason Bitter, Chief Executive Officer of SkyEurope. “We believe Košice will continue to experience strong passenger growth. We are also pleased that this move allows us to increase our services in both Bratislava and Prague to serve the growing demand for our services these markets have. This move re-inforces our position as the leading low-fare airline in our home Slovakia and the Czech Republic..”
“We are pleased that SkyEurope has chosen to expand service at Košice airport. The new SkyEurope expansion will create many direct and indirect jobs in the region and continue the significant growth of Košice Airport,” says Michael Hoferer, CEO of Košice Airport.
SkyEurope inaugurated operations on the 13th of February 2002 on the Bratislava–Kosice route. Since then over 750,000 passengers have been carried to/from Kosice with 217,000 transported in 2007 alone. In just the first three months of 2008 SkyEurope has already carried 80,000 passengers to/from Kosice and with the new expansion, SkyEurope expects to carry more than 400,000 passengers to/from Kosice in 2008. The forecast for Bratislava is close to one million passengers, and close to 1.4 million passengers in Prague.
