Lufthansa Technik Brussels provides line maintenance for Ryanair Eight aircraft to be maintained at Brussels South Charleroi
Lufthansa Technik has been awarded a contract to provide line maintenance at Brussels Charleroi airport for Ryanair. This contract, which is to support up to eight Boeing 737-800s that Ryanair bases in Brussels Charleroi will be carried out by the German MRO-specialist’s subsidiary Lufthansa Technik Brussels. The contract includes an option to provide increased support if Ryanair further expands the number of aircraft based in Brussels Charleroi.
To support this new contract from Ryanair, Lufthansa Technik Brussels will open a new line maintenance station at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. The new station will be equipped with technicians to provide night stop services on-site including defect rectification for Ryanair’s aircraft. Further duties like on-call service, logistic- and administrative functions will additionally be carried out by the team based in Charleroi.
The award of Ryanair’s line maintenance further expands Lufthansa Technik’s broad expertise in the support of low-fare airlines. Due to most modern standards of lean production and quality management, Lufthansa Technik’s technical services have in the past proven to be cost-effective even for the growing number of airlines operating on an extremely low-cost base.
