As the article above shows, LH has reached an agreement with the Nigerian Government to create a hub out of.... Abuja! Very surprising... I thought that the choice would have been Lagos.
Flights to Abuja will start operating on a daily basis, 4 times a week it will continue to Port Harcourt (therefore the port city will be re-introduced to the network) - the remaining 3 times, the flight will continue to Malabo.
Also the article makes room for the potential that LH will start a cooperative agreement with a Nigerian-based airline to provide feed in and out of Abuja... I believe Arik Air may be a good candidate (there is an article about Arik Air in Airways magazine's last issue, and leaves you quite impressed with the airline!).
As you can see, recession or not, world financial melt down or not, world economic crisis or not, LH is truly paving the way for consolidation and expansion.
