Both runways have been closed at Heathrow Airport after reports of smoke seen coming from the rear of a plane.
The British Airways aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing, a spokeswoman said.
The incident is not thought to be terror related and all passengers are safe.
One London Fire Brigade is attending the scene although the fire is now believed to be out.
There is speculation that the plane had run into a flock of birds

Su A.net si parla di perdita di un motore in decollo e successivo atterraggio con problemi anche all'altro motore.
La causa più probabile sembra essere un massiccio bird strike.

@avsecale the northern runway is currently closed following an incident involving a BA aircraft. All PAX & crew have been safely evacuated.

Apparentemente è un bird strike BA762 per OSL al decollo. LHR chiuso, attivati i servizi di emergenza. Esattamente in qst momento sto vedendo le ambulanze tornare da dietro all'hangar Virgin, sirene spente. l'aereo è piazzato diagonalmente sulla 27R.

Infatti l'aereo è in diagonale sulla 27R, ha perso i thrust reverser del motore dx.atterraggi in corso su 27l
