InterSky launches Graz-Milan/Zurich, drops Karlsruhe-Hamburg plans

InterSky (3L, Friedrichshafen Bodensee (FDH)) has announced plans to make Graz International (GRZ) a new focus city operating twice daily services from the Austrian city to Zurich Kloten (ZRH) and a six times weekly service to Milan Orio al Serio (BGY) from January 7 using DHC-8-300s. It will not base an aircraft in Graz but instead just reschedule its Friedrichshafen-Graz services accordingly. InterSky has however given up plans for a new German domestic route between Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB) and Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel (HAM) as previously announced after OLT Express Germany (OL, Bremen Neuenland (BRE)) has decided to launch services on the same route with larger Fokker 100s.

Questo è il secondo tentativo di collegare la Stiria con Milano.

Ci provò l'austriaca Fairline, nel 2004, lanciando il collegamento Malpensa-Graz (anche lei offriva voli 6xw, con a/m SF340), ma il vettore chiuse i battenti in breve tempo, decretando la prematura fine del collegamento. Il vettore aveva l'intenzione di riprogrammarlo poi su BGY, ma fallì prima di poterlo continuare a riproporlo.

Negli scorsi inverni, Neos ha operato voli charter in giornata da MXP a GRZ, per portare turisti italiani ai mercatini natalizi austriaci con ottimi riscontri.

Vedremo come andrà questa volta..
