BA contatta 8 compagnie charter per operare i voli nonostante lo sciopero

Flights operated by chartered aircraft
We are chartering a number of aircraft from a range of UK and European based airlines to assist with our shorthaul (UK and European) operations to and from London Heathrow.

The following airlines are being chartered for flights operating between 20 and 22 March 2010:

Air Finland
Arkefly
Astraeus
EuroAtlantic Airways
Jet2
Titan Airways
Transavia
Viking Airlines

These charter companies employ the pilots and cabin crew working on these aircraft, which will be operated on behalf of British Airways.

We have worked successfully with several of these airlines in the past. All of these airlines have to comply with the strict safety and operational standards laid down by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and any requirements specified by British Airways.

Flights operated by chartered aircraft will use the existing BA flight numbers.

The Arrivals and Departures facility is now up to date with the status of flights for up to 8 days in the future including details of exactly how we intend to operate them.
 
Penso che BA le contatterà nuovamente anche in occasione del secondo sciopero di Marzo (27-30) e per quelli di Aprile.
 
Ottima iniziativa da parte di BA. Sarà veramente insolito durante i giorni dello sciopero vedere il T5 di LHR solitamente un monocolore BA con tutte queste livree differenti.

in Italia il nostro tessuto sociale, normativo e culturale NON ci permette ancora (direi giustamente) di ignorare a tal punto un sacrosanto diritto quale è lo sciopero.

Ma stiamo già abbondantemente OT
 
Ryanair è, sorprendentemente, una delle diverse compagnie che verranno utilizzate da British Airways per garantire comunque parecchi voli durante i 3 giorni di sciopero.

British Airways ha difatti preso in wet-lease ben 3 Boeing 737-800 del vettore low-cost irlandese, la quale opererà durante il 20, 21, 22 Marzo questi voli :

LGW-MAN : 4 daily
LGW-GLA : 3 daily
LGW-EDI : 3 daily

Le altre compagnie noleggiate da BA sono : Air Finland, Arkefly, Astraeus, Czech Airlines, EuroAtlantic Airways, Jet2, Monarch Airlines, Titan Airways, Transavia e Viking Airlines.
