Lufthansa upgrades First Class cabins

Lufthansa will join the likes of Air France and British Airways by renovating its first class cabins in time for the 2010 World Cup coming up. Debuting in May, the new premier class package will feature menus designed by chef Holger Stromberg, personal chef to the German World Cup football team.
The news has been confirmed by Lufthansa, and it has been reported that Michael Oakey, an aircraft interior design expert, called the cabins contemporary and fashioned in a style similar to private jets and luxury cars. The interior is said to feature brown and beige leather with high-gloss wood veneers.
Lufthansa has also been able to confirm some of the new menu available under Stromberg. Some highlights of the reports include breast of quail with mango and peperonata chutney, coq au vin, and potato gnocchi. Business Class passengers will also benefit from the upgrade, with other Stromberg creations being served throughout Business Class as well.
Despite some airlines significantly reducing availability of first-class offerings during the global economic downturn, some, including Lufthansa are turning to more innovative moves to survive. British Airways recently undertook a £100m overhaul of its first class services in February. Additions included personal wardrobes for passengers and electric blinds at each seat.
Air France followed suit integrating an art gallery into all first class cabins on the A380 aircraft. There are also now changing rooms for passengers who wish to change into sleepwear on board the Air France A380s.

Lufthansa is preparing to unveil its new first and business class cabins. The unveiling will take place next month, and Michael Oakey, an aircraft interior design expert, says that the carrier has gone for a contemporary design rather than something more flashy and futuristic. He said that the cabin interiors will bring to mind luxury cars and private jets.
Lufthansa is following the lead of both Air France and British Airways, who have decided than rather than cut back on their offerings to premium class passengers in the wake of the global economic meltdown, they will innovate. In February, British Airways decided to spend£100 million on refitting its first class cabins. Passengers will now be able to utilize their own personal wardrobes and play with the newly fitted electric blinds.
Air France has added a changing room, rather than the toilets, for those wishing to get ready for bed, as well as an art gallery to their A380 first class cabin.

Sembra che le suites non ci saranno, la first sarà "normale" anche se completamente nuova.
La J dovrebbe essere sostanzialmente uguale all' attuale, quindi lie-flat.
L' IFE sarà Panasonic (si vede chiaramente sul sito LH del 380), speriamo sia l' EX2 e non un modello da "barbone".
