Oakland, aeroporto inutile.

Level to add New York JFK and Santiago flights from Barcelona
IAG's long-haul, low-cost unit Level is to launch new flights from Barcelona to New York JFK and Santiago in Chile next summer.
It will begin flights to Santiago at the end of March with the start of the summer season, initially serving the route twice-weekly. Santiago is a key hub for LATAM, a partner in Oneworld of several IAG carriers. Level will increase frequency to four times weekly on the route at the end of July.
At the same time it will then begin thrice-weekly flights from Barcelona to New York JFK. It will also add a third rotation to its San Francisco service. Level switched its flights in the region to San Francisco from Oakland at the end of October.
The additional services coincide with the basing of a fourth Airbus A330 at Barcelona.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows there are no operators between Barcelona and Santiago, while Oneworld carrier American Airlines and Delta Air Lines both fly to New York JFK from the Catalan city.
Level launched services from Barcelona in June 2017 and earlier this year began long-haul operations from Paris Orly, as well as short-haul operations from Vienna.
Recently appointed Level chief executive Vincent Hodder, speaking an IAGcapital markets day earlier in November, said the carrier had an aspirational target to treble its fleet to reach 42 aircraft by 2023. FG

Level underperformed in Paris and Vienna: IAG chief
IAG's budget carrier Level has performed below expectations in Paris and Vienna, group chief executive Willie Walsh admitted today.
Level operates long-haul flights out of Paris and has a short-haul base in Vienna, adding to a long-haul base in Barcelona.
While the Barcelona operation has performed well, the situation in Paris and notably Vienna has been tough, Walsh told analysts after IAG reported first-quarter results.
The Austrian capital has over the last year become a battleground for Europe's biggest low-cost carriers.
"Vienna has seen huge increase in capacity, so that has had a big impact on yields in the Vienna market, which are behind what we had planned," says Walsh, though he adds that volumes and customer reaction have been better than expected.
"It's a market where... the airport is certainly making money and customers are getting good offers but it is challenging for the airlines," he says.
The situation in Paris is easing as competitors withdraw, Walsh adds.
IAG does not break out Level's financial performance. FG
A margine della presentazione dei risultati IAG per il primo trimestre 2019 - Willie Walsh ha parlato di Level (sia lungo che corto raggio). Bene BCN, male VIE e ORY.
