Finnair presenta le proprie novità al TTG 2014

Finnair, compagnia di bandiera finlandese, prenderà parte a TTG 2014, dal 9 all’11 ottobre a Rimini. Durante la manifestazione sarà presente Paolo Zampieri, Country Sales Manager Italia e Malta, disponibile per approfondimenti sulle novità. Finnair sarà ospite presso lo spazio espositivo del Giappone, padiglione 3 stand 45/46. Fra le importanti novità che saranno proposte da Finnair spicca l’apertura delle nuove tratte stagionali che dalla primavera 2015 collegheranno direttamente Catania e Napoli a Helsinki e che andranno ad aggiungersi alle rotte già esistenti con partenze da Milano e Roma, e agli ulteriori collegamenti stagionali Venezia e Pisa - Helsinki. A partire dall’estate 2014 sono operativi tre nuovi collegamenti Finnair con la Russia: Kazan, Samara e Nizhny Novgorod si sono aggiunte all’elenco delle altre destinazioni russe servite dalla compagnia, che proponeva già un doppio collegamento giornaliero da Helsinki a San Pietroburgo, nove voli settimanali diretti a Mosca e quattro verso Ekaterinburg.
Dal 14 novembre Finnair aprirà la rotta per Phuket tre volte alla settimana e dal 10 dicembre anche per Krabi (KBV) due volte a settimana. Dal 16 dicembre è prevista l’apertura della nuova rotta stagionale fra Helsinki e Miami, Florida. Tutte le tratte saranno operate con aeromobili Airbus A340. Sui voli a lungo raggio in autunno verrà introdotto il pacchetto Economy Comfort. L’offerta propone posti nella parte anteriore della cabina Economy Class con almeno 12 cm di spazio in più per le gambe, poggiatesta più confortevoli, cuffie di alta qualità e amenity kit. Il servizio pasti in Economy Class viene aggiornato con un ulteriore spuntino a metà volo sulle tratte diurne, ma anche una nuova selezione di vini e spumanti. In Business Class sarà distribuito un nuovo amenity kit con prodotti di marca di alta qualità. Il sistema di intrattenimento a bordo è stato ridisegnato con un look più fresco e intuitivo, offre inoltre una maggiore scelta di film, spettacoli televisivi, giornali, riviste e libri. Sui voli a corto raggio (voli europei) in Economy Class, Finnair introdurrà Sky Bistro, una selezione più ampia mix-and-match di stagione, alimenti di alta qualità e bevande che combinano i migliori sapori dell’Europa e dell’Asia. I pasti possono essere personalizzati in anticipo sul sito www.finnair.com o acquistati a bordo durante il volo.
L’App mobile di Finnair sarà inizialmente disponibile (in autunno) per dispositivi Apple iOS e successivamente sulle altre piattaforme. L’applicazione potrà essere utilizzata per effettuare il check-in, selezionare i posti a bordo, acquistare upgrade, ricevere offerte importanti e verificare lo stato dei punti Finnair Plus.

Finnair named Best European Airline at TTG Travel Awards for second year in a row


For the second year running Finnair has been named Best European Airline at the annual TTG Travel Awards, a prestigious occasion in the Asia-Pacific travel industry that recognises organisations raising the bar of excellence in travel and tourism in the region.
Punctuality, service upgrades and smooth transfer reliability were all factors in favour of Finnair being given the honour by readers – industry professionals – of the publications TTG Asia, TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTGassociations, TTG-BTmice China and TTG Asia Luxury.
“Finnair has invested heavily in improving the customer experience even more since last year, from new lounges in Helsinki to full-flat seats in Business Class across the fleet,” says Finnair VP Global Sales Petri Vuori. “We are grateful to all TTG readers, travel agents and industry professionals who have placed their trust in our product. We continue to strive to make travel between Asia and Europe even smoother in the future, as we upgrade our long-haul fleet with next-generation Airbus A350 XWB aircraft beginning next year. ”
Finnair is the European launch customer of the Airbus A350 XWB, which will enter service beginning in the second half of 2015 and raise the bar for passenger comfort, operational efficiency and environmental performance. The first destinations to be served by Finnair’s A350s – 11 of which are on firm order with options for 8 more – will be Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore.
Other product improvements recently announced include refreshed Signature Menus in Business Class with new creations by top Finnish chefs, a renewed inflight entertainment system with more movies, TV shows and digital magazines and newspapers, and a forthcoming mobile application that will act as a personal concierge throughout the customer journey.

In September, Finnair's overall capacity was flat and traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 1.2 per cent year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor was 80.2 per cent.
The capacity in Asian traffic decreased by 5.0 per cent and the traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres by 2.9 per cent year‐on‐year.
European traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 9.8 per cent and capacity by 13.6 per cent year-on-year.
In July–September, the passenger unit revenue* per available seat kilometre fell by 2.0 per cent year‐on-year and totalled 5.76 euro cents.
“The third quarter was seasonally strong, as typical. However, due to challenging market conditions, passenger unit revenue fell slightly year-on-year,” says Finnair CFO Erno Hildén.
Leisure traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 33.4 per cent and capacity decreased by 32.7 per cent year-on-year.
In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres decreased by 0.8 per cent and the overall capacity by 8.7 per cent year-on-year. The load factor improved by 5.2 percentage points from last year’s level and was 64.6 per cent.
In September, 92.9 per cent of scheduled flights arrived on schedule (91.0). Of all traffic, 92.7 per cent (90.4) of flights were on schedule.

Generalmente una rotta si apre perchè ci sono buone prospettive sulla destinazione non per fare "girare le macchine" :D
